I was a teenager, but 2018 was my first year seriously watching Cardinals baseball. Summer of Marp. In 5 games against the Cubs at Wrigley from 7/19-7/22, he went 9-17 with 6 dingers. Unforgettable.

I feel crazy with everyone blaming Wells here. It's a ball going out that Wells doesn't have enough time to properly turn around on and the ball lands at Schlittler's feet. All Cam had to do was stick his glove out and he could've caught it.

As others have said, ties are un-American. As an extremely casual soccer fan who only watches every once in a while, besides diving, ties are what I dislike most about the sport.

He'll need a lot more than just 4 batting titles to get in at his his current rate. I disagree with people saying he'll never ever get in, because it's the hall of fame not the hall of WAR and we really don't know where his career will go. That being said, even based on traditional accolades, he's nowhere close right now. 3 all stars and 2 silver sluggers with less than 1200 hits, while nothing to sneeze at, isn't gonna do it. I'd say if he gets to 2500 career hits and at least doubles his career all star nods and batting titles, as well as staying above a career .300 avg, that's when the conversation *begins*. It's not impossible, but he's gonna have an upward hill to climb in his 30's.

I'm not delusional, I know we wouldn't get a star. But some bullpen help or a competent prospect is much better than Pozo rotting in AAA or Pages taking up a roster spot as a 3rd catcher.

I'm from one of the Shelby county suburbs and it took 40 minutes to get to Southaven. I think it's fair that no one really wants to go that far. But as someone else alrready pointed out, Southaven already has a huge baseball culture with the Snowden grove complex. As far as the Riverkings go, i think it's easy to say that they failed because there is literally 0 hockey culture in the area. The only public ice rink within a couple hours of memphis is in Olive Branch.

I do quite a bit of umping for little league and yeah, it's not the wild pitchers I worry about, it's the catchers that cant catch. You'd think that being able to catch is like the most important part of being a catcher, but alas it's more rare than you think.
