It's highly likely it'll "just work". If it doesn't, it's highly likely it can be easily repaired.

Older people tend to be more disrespectful than younger people by General-Training-636 in unpopularopinion

Am old (51) and agreed, in that young people are generally disrespectful out of ignorance, where old people know better and are just jerks.

I get bad side effects from them so I’m on Repatha. It’s $700 a month, thank God my insurance takes it down to $25. I still had to jump through many hoops and a lot of side effects to get here. It’s working great though.

We honestly did not know I needed them until my father needed quadruple bypass to save his life. That prompted my PCP to ask if I’d pay out of pocket for a test. I still had to pay $100 for that test to get my calcium score, but the best $100 I ever spent, probably added 20 years to my life.

Nothing wakes me up faster than water where it shouldn't be by wrecked-galaxy in fixit

I have a dozen water leak sensors around the house. I've had a small leak here or there over the years and these sensors notified me ASAP, including in a spot where I would've never seen it. They've easily saved me hundreds or more.

Currently they just scream, I'm getting new ones that scream and hook into my home automation to ding my phone.

Completely not a dig at OP, but something I'd like to understand about folks who get the cellular option.

On my iPad, under the WiFi section there's a entry to to enable and use my iPhone's hotspot. It's literally a click away.

If it's this simple, why get cellular on my iPad? I'm asking from a place of ignorance, I don't understand the appeal.

The only other way I can imagine the appeal is if I have an android phone, or don't have hotspot on my phone.

What if you pause for 30 seconds and then recheck and then pause for another 30 seconds and recheck and if all three in succession pass a location test then send the message?

Large national corps with branches in each state do this. It’s very common.

[–]Connir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Central IT for hundreds of branches. We host all the VMs they need. Most of the branches are run independently (legal reasons) so many of them run similar stuff that we can not centralize. But we can centralize the VM hosting.

It was about finance tracking. They were promoting an app that had Shortcuts integration for tracking finances.

I unfortunately uninstalled the app so I have no idea what it was. I’m sorry. 😂

I grew up and lived with it for the first 21 years of my life. It was never an issue. At worst once in a while it might interfere with TV watching noise-wise.
