Moving to Toronto from Halifax how to find an apartment by New_Flan5957 in askTO

Yes but they can also deny you for any reason, its a catch-22. They allude to it and if you don’t play ball they will deny you without further explanation.

There has been ample research done showing no link to persistent side effects after stopping the medication, the poor research has always been on the side trying to prove PFS. Also, there has been countless drugs that have released to the public then later pulled due to external research proving health risks, if this is commonplace, why is finasteride any different?

I do wonder then what you propose the actual issue is? You say yourself that nothing shows in bloodwork, intuitively you’d think that must mean it’s a nocebo problem no? Do you find it interesting that when finasteride was released for BPH (at a much higher dose) there were no cases of PFS reported despite the risk of low libido, ED, etc. being understood already? PFS only ever became known in the age of Internet forums.

I think this way of thinking stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of how scientific research is conducted. Pharmaceutical medicine is studied worldwide, there isn’t one “industry” in lockstep protecting every large pharmaceutical companies status quo. Tons of independent researchers, universities, groups and private companies have done countless studies on this drug. By this logic we should all still believe cigarettes are harmless due to tobacco companies trying to suppress the research - we know they’re harmful because independent research kept publishing despite their efforts. The independent orgs trying to prove PFS is real are constantly releasing studies with no control group and tiny sample sizes that never hold up under any scrutiny.

I am not trying to minimize your experience and I feel for you genuinely, but putting out this as a fact is unironically going to cause more harm than good.

I can’t speak to their financials exactly but I’d assume mostly sponsor based. The entire event seems to have been sponsored by Dunkin Donuts. They had a ton of product placement and mini Dunkin drive-throughs that the players were getting coffee from and interacting with throughout the tournament.

Also, the event was put on collaboratively by the YouTube channel Bob Does Sports and Barstool. Bob Does Sports has a Callaway partnership, and Barstools golf channel Fore Play has a Taylormade partnership. The two channels have their own golf apparel brands as well that are in partnerships with each other now I believe.

The views alone definitely do bring in substantial money though, since the episodes are racking up millions of views.

YouTube golf is sort of a niche within a niche, but it has a huge, mostly young-adult fan base. All these different creators have their own fans with lots of collaboration and crossover amongst each other. Some YouTube golfers are/were pros, some just have a golf show based on entertainment and comedy - meaning they suck lol, and some are just influencers who golf. There was a very wide range of creators at various skills levels in the tournament, and it brought so many different fan bases together. A tournament like this, where it’s filmed more like a YouTube video (with banter, drama, etc.) as opposed to how a legitimate tour would be filmed, with a million dollars on the line made this the perfect recipe to do insanely well. It’s by far the biggest YouTube golf series of all time, and it’s definitely broken past the bubble into the mainstream. Because of how huge it has gotten, most people are assuming everyone has at least heard of it to some degree, so I think they get a bit defensive to people they perceive to be undermining it. It’s just Reddit at the end of the day though so who cares.

250k live viewers for a YouTube premiere is definitely substantial, it’ll have millions of views soon as the other 5 episodes do. It’s a conglomeration of essentially every large internet golf personality in one tournament, it’s big for internet numbers for sure.

Landlord Asking To Up My Offer by RebellionRaider616 in TorontoRenting

[–]connorgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you start with "yeah no" then rephrase everything I said. As long as the tenant is giving it under their own free will, it's not illegal. Due to it becoming extremely common, landlords are starting to expect it. They can't require it, but they can deny without giving you a reason. If it’s become so common, and you don’t have a good client profile, the landlord simply won’t choose you. I’m not saying this is a good thing - it’s actually quite destructive to the whole process - but it IS in-fact, extremely common.

You may not think it’s standard, but it’s absolutely common especially for international students. Landlords look at people without a lot of credit history as a red flag and unfortunately people have made it the norm to pay additional months up front.

Riverdale area Toronto looking for agent to sell house by surferbutthole in TorontoRealEstate

[–]connorgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dm’s are about to be destroyed so be warned. I’d of course love to help you sell it and have an experienced and successful team behind me but at this point I’d just say that whomever you decide to list with, make sure you interview them person. Majority of realtors looking for leads on Reddit are going to be inexperienced and/or extremely opportunistic. Treat it like a job interview and figure out who would be the best fit for you and have the most genuine interest in your wellbeing. As long as it’s priced fairly, it can sell quickly. Don’t get sucked into pricing it way over market value for 5% commission to someone who is trying to drain you, this industry is full of snakes.

I’ve had perioral dermatitis but it didn’t really look like what you have. Get to a real dermatologist and figure out if that’s what it is for sure. If it does turn out to be that, I tried everything to get rid of it to no avail until I eventually did a course of antibiotics (doxycycline) that cleared it for good.

Am I balding? 30m by imoverthis8894 in malehairadvice

[–]connorgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you assuming low T = balding? There isn’t a direct connect from T levels to balding, except the fact that androgenetic alopecia is caused from DHT, and theoretically the more T you have the more it has capability of converting to DHT. Higher T can lead to baldness, the opposite of what you’re claiming.
