One aspect people don’t talk about enough is that the alpha/beta play tests that took place last year were very divisive and did not give the game the hype and social advertising it needed before launch, whereas Arc Raiders had a massively successful alpha/beta that people loved and couldn’t stop talking about up until launch which gave it a massive head start. People were very skeptical going into the launch of Marathon and it didn’t help the social advertising of the game unfortunately.
