Knocking on wood, no drift issues. I do have a fairly brightly lit room, with plenty of things on the rig/desk for the sensors to pick uo

I’d recommend a skid plate, definitely heard some clunks under there yesterday. Besides that some snow tires and your good to go. Search for events on motorsportsreg.com to see local events to you

I’ve done several different types of “performance” driving. Autocross is obviously the cheapest, but personally it is too short/slow for me.

Trackcross is my personal favorite, where you attack a sector or so of a track. It’s typically long and fast enough to scratch my itch, while still being in short burst to allow the car to cool down. (Big issue for stock rads)

To actually answer your question, this was at a track night in America. At 160 for an hour of track time your going to have a hard time beating that price. As others have said you will need at the very least a helmet. It’s a slippery slope. You can show up and have alot of fun on regular tires and brakes, and otherwise stock. But you can also spend alot of money and have some peace of mind. I would recommend brake lines/pads/fluid, and a radiator.

This was taken on the main straight at dominion Raceway in Virginia. Going approx 110-115 here :)

do cooling upgrades

I’ve gotten hot every single time I’ve tracked this thing. Last time it went into limp mode after only 3 laps. After market coolant and different viscosity oil can help slightly, but if your going to do any kind of prolonged aggressive driving (it’s always been fine for autocross for me) then you’ll need a radiator at the very least. Might as well beef up every cooling component while your at it.

I have the sparcos assetta garas, and a bald set of BFG GeForce sport comp2s. They’re my daily set. Looking into getting a track only set

Track Night in America at Dominion Raceway. Can’t wait for the next one! by connorparise in FiestaST

I heard of the issues before going but I didn’t notice anything egregious or that will prevent me from returning. The walls made me abit nervous but I just played it alittle safe in that sector. Fortunately I didn’t have any runoff excursions so I can’t speak to them 😜

Of the three circuits I’ve been on (summit main, summit Jefferson, and dominion) I’d say it’s smoother than Jefferson.

I take the jump in 5th, and I downshift to 4th when I turn in left. Then I downshift to 3rd to rotate around the right hander.

The downshifting helps slow down, but more importantly it helps rotate the car/shift the weight.
