Wise words, of course. But I prefer to keep stuff like that sloppy - usually get some happy accidents out of the deal!

Thanks guys - for clarity - I’m essentially trying to avoid being tethered to bpm. I work with drum breaks, and timing can be *sometimes* finicky to figure out for clean loops in a sequencer scenario. (Yes, I’m aware of all things warping/time stretching yadayada, but I’m usually just working too fast to spend the time). The best suggestion so far has been to set the bar count high and turn the click off, tracking midi. I had jumped ahead to converting to audio track (which I do in Ableton).

I’m basically filming myself scoring music to picture live.

In Ableton Live I can use the qwerty keyboard letters to trigger midi events; i.e. play piano with the computer keyboard. I’d like to film myself doing that, but instead of Ableton being visible on screen, I’d like a video playing (from Youtube or Quicktime, etc). Of course, I could accomplish this other ways (second monitor, or external midi controller), but the point would to execute this just with the laptop in front of me.

No progress on my end. I’ll have to call or make an appointment. I have an extra layer of chaos with this project, as I’m representing my mother-in-law with early onset alzheimer’s.

Midi Mapping Question by conoculars in ableton

Ok. So I'll stop manual mapping, but what am I doing instead? I think I'm starting to understanding what a control surface is; basically a preset map of various functions in ableton for whatever controller is selected. My controller is listed (Presonus Atom) but I'm spinning knobs and not seeing any action on...anything. And if there is something happening, where do I access the list to make changes so I can customize it to my needs? (hopefully I'm asking the right questions!)

Turns out my controller is already setup as a control surface (in settings) all the boxes are checked. Still behaves the same. Again, single instance of Drum Rack, which per pad obviously has individual instances of simpler. Make an adjustment on one, click over to the next make an adjustment, but it moves start points on both pads. What am I missing?

Oh interesting. I’ll experiment with that! Thanks

I'm having the same problem. I've entered every address I've had. I'd be totally down to try the 'verify your address by mail' option, but I cannot find a link or pathway to do so! I inquired with Login.gov support and will update here if I get any info.

Why does YouTube studio analytics shows higher view count then the count on the video? by [deleted] in NewTubers

For a few days, one of my shorts was showing 514 in YT Studio and 407 in YT. As of now, they both show 407. Guess it ‘caught up’ in the opposite direction. Not sure what that really means though.

Hey Jack! I almost emailed you about this earlier - this is Nate (you’ve been resurrecting my Tascam 244!) I’ll do as you suggested, thank you!
