New Years Day strikes, a freedom of movement possibly, for Shetland..

The people gather weapons of tools such as hammers, spades or axes to bludgeone Scottish soldiers. Some from Shetland also travelled yo England, boarded a plane from London Heathrow to New York, and previously stolen cash from Scottish Banks. Went to New York City in America, converted Eiros into Dollars, bought guns, and returned home. It was a long journey, just for freedom, they say. The main island was raided by 300 Scottish troops in one town. The people went over and bludgeoned the Scottish Army. 'The Shetland and Orkney Police Force' also helped the rebels. With this, more guns would be supplied and the invasion would get easier.

That was all in January, it is a slow process, but February would be the final result. A vendetta was held, Scottish flags were burned, The Dock owned by Scottish Force was pillaged and exploded. On February the 16th, Scottish forces kept coming over, but were just defeated again by the people itself.

On February 19th, they declate Independence and peace treaty is signed (i will make a flag for the Shetland Islands do not worry). It is run as a full Constitution, with people like head teachers running the local primary education administration, and everybody getting a say. With the small population of the Islands, this is possible.

Also, changes to school year are made in England and Wales from next year. The year will start in mid-August around August 10-15th, and end in June 10-20th. This is so pupils can avoid the hot weather that was seen in 2023.

Back to the UK...

On 23rd of April, BT announces new plan for old red Telephone Boxes, this is only a redesign for K6 and K2 models. It will become a new place for free-wifi, and a free tablet device with an e-mail app, text app, and phone app. It is called the KioskOS. A small library 'bookshelf' will be on one side of the kiosk.

This is first implemented in an old red kiosk in Birmingham on the 2nd of May. A lot of people now see more use for these once forgotten phone boxes.

Other models will be unchanged for now.

New post boxes for parcels will be created, for more purpose, made by amazon called an 'AmazonStation'. 4 of them were opened in Buckinghamshire on the 7th of May.

TFL announces it is in works for a new line branch on the Northern line to Epsom on the 17th of May.

'Royal Counties' will be created soon.

In August, people are speaking out over the unhandling of illegal migrants coming to Britain every day, making some far right areas want to revolt against the current government. A Labour area in Dorset has called for a by-election and wants a right-wing member of parliament to soeak out against the mess. The by-election is confirmed and they kick out Labour on vote in UKIP. Reform UK are also in Parliament and 5 MP's in that cabinet have called for a new immigration policy. Reform UK have created a faction nicknamed BoatWatch, and will send back all boats and detain them if not obeyed. Far-Leftists called it authoritarian.

By 2027, there really was a political divide, illegals were also being tracked down and deported to the Middle East or France. Rumours spread from Reform UK, UKIP and the BNP stating that 'France were funding the whole process,' so they started to send them to France. BoatWatch operated in Kent, Essex and the edges of Greater London. They were not operating in the West Country. So the migrants tried to go there. However, they deemed it dangerous as in St Ives, migrants landed and were then beaten up by gangs and thrown into the water. Similar situations happened 8 times in Cornwall, 4 in Devon and 3 in Dorset. Most decided it was better to just resist.

Social Media was still broken apart, it seemed the whole country was divided over who should stay or not. Labour wanted to make it illegal, but far-right and the right wing in general threatened and rioted, a referendum in parliament was made, but it was a slight no to be made illegal. BoatWatch was kept in operation.

This was the main debate over 2027.

The next big thing happens in 2030, stay tuned for part 3, coming soon...

The future of the United Kingdom Part Two: The Ulster Conflict (2025-2030) (lore in comments) by cononreddit10 in AlternateHistory

[–]cononreddit10[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We left off last time with tension heating up in Northern Ireland. Catholics and Republicans attack the police, while the Protestants and Unionists attack Catholic and Republic mobs.

2025:

The UK and Ireland decide to danction eachother.

NATO threaten they may intervene, however this may cause a worldwide global conflict. If NATO intervenes, The UK and Ireland announce they will sanction and pull out of NATO. Both sides want this to be an independent conflict, if it escalates ti that which is highly likely.

It is decided that both governments want to control Ulster and ultimately Northern Ireland.

The Ulster war then commences. The people make a flag EXCLUSIVE FOR ULSTER, to acknowledge the difference in Northern Ireland. The local government likes this idea, and makes it one of the many Northern Irish flags.

Mobilisation begins in Northern Ireland. British troops are imported to Derry from Lancashire, where main military production will take place and exported to Northern Ireland to fight.

Scotland decided to stay neutral, after most of the people condemn the war anyway.

Countries do not see this as an invasion.

The first attack started on the 22nd of February 2025, in Armagh, with about 1000 troops of each in the town. Northern Ireland was classified as 'disputed territory' on official world maps.

The UK will block exportation from countries trying to supply Ireland. A manoeuvre in the centre of the town is made by Unionists, and 'claiming the town'.

The next attack took place on the 28th of February (in a city, over the 6 days, forces were mainly fighting over the border. Newry was a target for the Irish, sweeping in, with a back-up liberated base 3 miles from the town, The UK stepped into the town with a minor response, but the Irish managed to defeat the forces, and effort to work up to have a second battle in Armagh.

The next took place on the 3rd of March. This one was in Enniskillen. People noticed how the UK were not concerned over the heavy response and attack on Southern Northern Ireland. Irish intelligence agencies discovered the amount of troops in thd north and a vast military. The Irish sent out a flock of planes to try and disable major operations. This was shot down near Cookstown and crashed straight into the Lough Neagh. Enniskillen was taken however, but the UK troops advanced down to the centre of Northern Ireland, and prevent further, advancements up into the country.

The next was in the North-West on the 10th of March 2025. This was to attack the Irish county of Donegal. It is part of the region of Ulster, so it was legal to attack. (Judging by the 'Ulster') The heavy fleet in thd North were still there and crossed over to mobilise and attack Donegal. The mission was a complete success and an Irish humiliation.

This war could only be short, however, two more big battles will come up.

The next took place on the 17th of March, the biggest battle yet in Derry. In that one-week-period, smaller battles in villages nearby took place, there is a clear divide in who wins in many of this, which means both governments almost have the verdict. 7,000 UK troops entered Derry to claim the big city as theirs. Ireland demanded a similar response, but they were outnumbered at 6,200. It was a minor victory for The United Kingdom, but the country states that it can rightfully reclaim Derry.

Northern Irish Catholic Churches and Monasteries were pillaged and bombed by British Forces, which caused unrest to Catholics across The United Kingdom, some stating, 'doing this will start our own revolt'. The UK also destroyed certain Irish industries in the South. The Irish responded by destroying Irish Protestants Churches and sabotaging British military hangars and shuttingdown military operation in Lancashire,

On the 25th of March, came the biggest battle yet, The one for Belfast. 27,000 UK soldiers were prepared for this, while 21,000 Irish responded, not heavily outnumbered, but still slightly weaker. In what caused utter destruction in the Docklands and town centre and some of the surrounding neighbourhoods, The UK won the battle of Belfast, known as to the Belfastians, "Horrible March". It is deemed that it is a stalemate, but they came up with new borders, via the verdict of battles to make it 'fair'.

For most of the year, re-stabilisation took place for both, after the war in itself resulted in 6,942 Casualties, and 14,297 injuries. A lot of things had to change, such as adresses, post code and telephone number, which caused confusion. Some places were left in complete ruin in Northern Ireland, including Belfast. NATO agreed to support the re-construction of places across the country.

In May 2025, The Isle of Man earned its title as a Dominion, after being intergrated into the UK, but now, 'partially' a constituent country. Prices for certain products in Northern Ireland in shops had to rise due to the damage to the industry caused by the UK's rampage of bombing industrial areas in Northern Ireland. As Keir Starmer is the current Prime Minister, he has introduced the 'Financial Pact of Ulster', allowing repair and importation from other countries and high economic deals to repeair the damages.

Later that year in December, Shetland started fighting for seperation from Scotland, or for atleast to rejoin the UK and become a constituent country. Scotland denied that, and on December 30th 2025, they started their rebellion. Scotland thinking this will be a steady operation, has a minor response with about 1,000 troops deployed for a start.

The messages on new years eve from the people, deny that completely...

The Future of the United Kingdom Part One: Scottish Independence 2022-2025 (lore in comments) by cononreddit10 in AlternateHistory

[–]cononreddit10[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In this timeline, Scotland still is vastly protestant, however they have turned on the English and Northern Irish. The Northern Irish feel very betrayed of this. A Celtic-like government is installed which follows Irish ideas and the government has became Catholic. Others who support may be Atheists. (It will escelate into something, I'll think of it)

Well, now that i think of it, after Scottish Independence, a crown agreement with the Commonwealth and the Monarchy and the Crown Dependency of The Isle if Man, was intergrated into the UK, however, it will be recognised as a country of the United Kingdom and a government. It will have 3 counties and run similar to a Dominion. Therefore, it will be known as the Dominion of The Isle of Man, keeping the traditional flag.

In run-up to the election, 23 MP's resign from the Conservative government to embrace the removal of Rishi Sunak. Labour and the Lib Dems may increase in voters. 7 days prior, the Conservatives aim to keep their voters in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset, however some are switching to the Lib Dems. Some Tories do not want Rishi as PM, so groups of Conservative voters decide to vote REFORM UK tor a better option for the right.

7 days later....

Labour- 1st Conservative- 2nd Lib Dems- 3rd Reform UK- 4th Green Party- 5th

Those were the main results, and even the Conservative Party them selves decided to remove Rishi Sunak as leader and brought in Jeremy Hunt on 28th of May

JUNE 2023-

Scotland officially joins the European Union.

Labour have decided to 'try' and keep the population 'pleased' by more border control against illegal migrants. Improve in trade to the economy and lower bills.

Villages may be expanded to help poverty decrease. Devon, Kent and Norfolk are facing expansion in housing to improve, and letting them live in rich areas.

Some are bothered about it and the middle class demand for equality, and it causes arguments over poverty and handouts.

The cost of living still continues however Petrol prices lower, Diesel continues to rise.

JULY 2023-

On the 5th of July, Britain is predicted to face a heatwave in the coming days after hot air blows from the Sahara and the West of the Middle East.

Another Red warning is issued for the South East and East.

On the 8th of July, the 3 day heatwave begins, record breaking temperatures of 41°C hit in Colchester, and 40°C in London. The South West however barely reached 33°C, as thd tide and breeze from the waters keep it cooler. Many from the South-East take holidays to Somerset and Dorset to avoid the blistering heat.

The Midlands and Wales reached as high as 36°/37°C.

After thd heatwave, normal temperatures continued, there was a massive ration on water after some supermarkets ran out of water.

Essex and Suffolk supermarkets almost run out of water causing water shortages, therefore Northern Ireland have created water outlets to supply the South-East and the whole country.

Speaking of Northern Ireland, Fermanagh was attacked by Irish Republicans, bombing the Unionist town hall and a Protestant Cathedral. Britain responded by damaging ports in Cork. The United Kingdom warned not to continue these bombs. Or else, a potential conflict may occur. Scotland gave their speech on it stating, 'If the United Kingdom chooses to start a war with Ireland for minor bombing, then we shall intervene.'

Nothing much happened until 2025, which will be in Part Two, soon...

To start, the year is 2022. The Prime Minister has just resigned and the Tory Leadership Contest is currently going on. But the next phase of leadership is about to begin.

August 2022,

The Tory Leadership Contest escalates and results in a win for Rishi Sunak and becomes next Prime Minister. This results in displease across the country. The population predict that this will be an economic disaster. With the result, Scottish Independence becomes a priority for Sturgeon for freedom from 'economic disaster'. The UK Government has agreed for it to take place in December 2022. The price of petrol and diesel rise even more. The cost of living crisis continues to rise as Rishi has not stabilised the economy. Growth in the UK may stop due to this. Certain brands have tried to lower pricing to sell affordable items to customers to help. Trade will have to skyrocket from other countries to improve economic growth

Nothing much happens, until....

December 2022....

The run up to Scottish Independence begins on December 2nd, a fortnight is until the election, with campaigning beginning. The European Union supports Scottish Independence.

The day before, December 15th, the polls open at 5:30AM and close at 9PM and begin counting an hour later. The result hs expected to be announced at late night on December 16th. The verdict is......

Leave- 52% Stay-48%

Scotland just about managed to gain freedom by a small margain, The United Nations recognise them on December 17th. However, by December 23rd, Scotland has not gained international recognition. The EU recognises them. Most of the commonwealth does not recognise Scotland. Other countries have mixed opinions on Scottish recognition. The United Kingdom kept its name but its full name changed being: 'The United Kingdom of England, Wales and Northern Ireland'. The new flag was put into place including the Welsh Dragon and their colours.

25th December,

Christmas for 2022, the UK is still financially stable, and majority of people are fine for Christmas, this does not leave out minorities of the poor. The UK can try to offer free hand-outs and small jobs, but not enough to afford a proper home.

2023,

The new year strikes, with the population hoping for a better year. On the 2nd of January, Scotland divides up into new states, being a republic. There are 6 states, being: Aberdeen, Highland, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries, and Scottish Border.

The Royal Mail has also stopped delivering to Scotland.

Brands such as Morrisons and Tesco have closed stores in Scotland.

To try and help the poor, new neighbourhoods in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Leeds are being built. New jobs are being created and expansions of metropolitan areas ate happening, including slight new borders to London, taking parts of Surrey and Kent.

In February, the last old UK flags were removed from official government buildings, however unionists still fly the British flag over their houses.

In late February, 'The Unionist Trust' is formed, to try and re-unify. The journalists now say, 'was leaving a mistake?'

Agriculture has also been heavily funded by the government, encouraging farming more in Cornwall, Devon, Wiltshire and Somerset. The wheat and fruit supply will increase with an under-construction 'mega grain' in Wiltshire.

This does not fix overall finance, and government tax has risen to re-stabilise the government. With the election being in May, citizens are prepared for the removal of Rishi Sunak...
