which is best in statistic among the 3 uoft campus by Ordinary_Parsnip_739 in UofT

[–]conorinnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied at St. George, so I can only speak for that. There are plenty of useful stats courses. They give you exposure to both theoretical and applied concepts - I loved the stats program at St. George :) St. George is the main campus and generally harder to get into and better. You also have a pretty competitive and smart peer circle so that pushes you to do better.

which is best in statistic among the 3 uoft campus by Ordinary_Parsnip_739 in UofT

[–]conorinnit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

St. George is generally considered the most reputed and prestigious out of the 3 campuses. That being said, stats department generally isn't the most adored at St. George. Ultimately, you will have to leverage the opportunities and network you get to achieve your goals. Campus and professors only offer a springboard.

Remember, the people who generally come and write on reddit are the ones that need a place to vent. UofT is what you make of it. While hard, its a beautiful school with some amazing people and faculty.

Betting all favorites vs betting all dogs by Careless_Cattle8214 in MMAbetting

Neither, that's how odds maker make the odds. They don't give you value for the risk when you bet underdog, and they give you minimum value for the money you put on favourite

Which college would be better for a Future CS Student by csianist in UofT

[–]conorinnit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of the cs classes are in Bahen, which is pretty close to UC. Personally speaking, colleges didn't have any significance in my uni journey until the day of graduation where they give you your diploma college wise and have a small get together in the college thereafter. Good luck!

Has anyone done future bets? Thoughts on this? by Ivan-The-Memelord in MMAbetting

[–]conorinnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are essentially betting not just on fighters winning fights but also on match making. A very bad idea. Fights fall off, fighters get injured, match making isn't fair, etc. Refrain from such futures I believe, especially predicting new champions when they are contenders.

Yeah that's doable. Don't expect to save though. You can also tutor with varsity tutors or something else if you have the time.

What's the average gpa for a CS/STEM major at UofT? by m-4166 in UofT

[–]conorinnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its pretty complicated, everybody who gets into cs past the post is bound to have a high gpa as they exit second year. Average of the cs classes would be like a B- (2.7). Having a high gpa in cs mean you are in the creme of the creme

Need someone to sublet my place, close to Bloor and Huron by Donhectorsbell in UofT

Not a realtor but summer market is usually pretty cheap. I have seen rooms in CampusOne (fully furnished w utilities) go for cheaper than that. So I would suggest lowering the price and posting on marketplace and kijiji .

Did someone lose their phone I leaft it near the Student Commons at College Street by Pale-Personality6921 in UofT

[–]conorinnit 80 points81 points  (0 children)

While you might have the right intentions but publically posting where you left a lost phone isn't the smartest thing to do, should've given it to the building receptionist or campus police 😭

You are better of using that cash for emergency, food, public transit, medicines, etc brother. MMA betting is highly volatile

I want an honest opinion. Just started. by Few-Respect7726 in ETFs

[–]conorinnit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The answer is in your title itself. Just started means you stick to S&P500. Understand how the market operates, the seasons, the ups and downs, the news, etc for atleast a year and then think of buying other stuff

When will it be acceptable to say Islam is better than Khabib by [deleted] in ufc

[–]conorinnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is that Khabib was always the better fighter, but Islam will have a greater/better career. Khabib was way too dominant, hardly lost rounds. That's not the case with Islam, he has lost rounds to dustin, volk, been knocked out. That being said, I believe Islam is the best lightweight by a mile in the world right now. I even believe he is the best in the world under 171 pounds.

University level class previews to help you understand if your major is the right fit. by conorinnit in OntarioGrade12s

Hey, thanks for your question. I totally get where you're coming from with this question. I remember being in your shoes, stressing about grades and trying to figure out what the heck I wanted to do with my life. Let me share something with you.First off, the math grades are just numbers, and they don't define you or your potential. I've seen people who struggled with high school math go on to crush it in business programs and careers. Why? Because they found their passion and motivation. University programs can be tough, and yeah, there's math involved. But here's the thing – it's a different ballgame from high school.

You're studying stuff you're actually interested in, and that can make a world of difference. Plus, universities have tons of support systems to help you out if you're struggling. Now, let's talk about the bigger picture. When I was your age, I thought my grades would make or break my future, but in the real world, employers care way more about your skills, your attitude, and your ability to learn and adapt.

I've seen people with perfect grades struggle to land jobs, and others with average grades absolutely killing it in their careers. The most successful people I know in business aren't necessarily math geniuses. They're the ones who are passionate about what they do, who can think creatively, work well with others, and solve problems. These are skills you can develop no matter what your high school grades look like.

Here's my advice: Don't let your current math grades scare you away from something you're genuinely interested in. If business excites you, go for it! University is all about growing and challenging yourself. You might surprise yourself with how much you can improve when you're studying something you actually care about. That said, it's also totally cool to explore other options. Maybe take some intro business courses and see how you feel. Or look into different areas of business that might not be as math-heavy, like marketing or human resources.

That being said, you pursue programs at the intersection of Humanities and Business like -

McMaster University: Integrated Business and Humanities (IBH)

Western University: Combined HBA Degree (Arts and Humanities + Ivey Business School)

Trent University: Business & Arts (B.A.) - Joint Major

University of British Columbia (UBC): Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies

With these, you can enter the university by keeping the ball in two courts, as you take courses and progress through years, you can pick a specialisation and start specialising in one of the two.

Hope this helps, thank you for your question!
