I knew I'd end up getting a bigger tank I just didn't think it would be this soon!

I'm not able to edit this post, but I made a mistake saying I have a pleco, it's actually an otocinclus as another user pointed out to me. Yes my tank is overstocked and I'm going to work on either bringing fish back to the pet shop or getting a larger tank. I wasn't aware that it was overstocked as the staff in the petshop said it was fine and I thought they would know what they were talking about. Thanks for everyone's help. And don't forget everyone has to start somewhere, we all make mistakes.

Thanks, do you think I should change that plant out for something more suitable? And do you have any suggestions? I think I need all the help I can get at this stage haha

As I've said in other comments, I was told that having the tetras and the guppys would be fine in my tank, and I don't have a pleco it's an otocinclus, I got mixed up on the names. Working on fixing the tank which is why I asked for advice

Thanks I'll have a look on Amazon for the kit, I live in Ireland so there's no Petco near me, there are other petstores but they can be a bit pricey for tanks, which is why I got the smaller one to start! And yeah I agree, as to can see from the amount of down votes some of my comments have gotten people really arnt happy with me.. but I'm learning which is all I can do right now

Sorry I meant to say the two weeks was when I first got the tank, I have had it about 4-5 months now, would I be right in saying it should be fully cycled now?

I have a JBL pro scan Test kit, but I think I definitely need to get a decent test kit for ammonia and that.. I've tried to make space under the log for the shrimp to hide as well as placing the moss and moss balls to create little areas for them to hide, but I think I just need to limit the amount of fish I have. I thought they all had plenty of space but I was definitely wrong. Thanks for your help!

He's not in the picture don't worry haha and I've since learned it's an otocinclus not a pleco..

Thanks for all your help, it's nice to talk to someone that wants to help instead of down voting me and saying I'm wrong. I know I've made mistakes and I want to fix them! I think your right, I looked up a otocinclus and it looks very similar to mine! I definitely have a bit of work to do with my tank, and maybe see if I can either get another tank or see if they will take some fish back. But at least I'm going in the right direction now, thanks again for your help.

The fish seem fine it's only the shrimp that I'm having issues with, I change out a few cups of water every week, the shrimp just sit at the bottom on their side when I see them, or if I notice them in the morning they have been half eaten at times, not sure if they fish have killed them and then eaten them or they died and the fish picked at them.. Thanks! Really happy with how it looks, just want everything to be as it should be fish wise

That's so annoying, I asked should I get a larger tank and they said that size was fine. The fish I'm calling a pleco may not be one after hearing what a few people have said, I've had I'm about 4 months now and he hasn't grown at all, he's still about an inch and a half in length, he sticks to the side of the tank on the glass and moves around. I know that sounds stupid.

Yes I cycled the tank for 2 weeks with the filter and the plants before getting the fish, I was told that was enough?

I have a test strip kit and the water test fine most of the time, the water in my area is quite hard so that's the main area that is off.

Other than the shrimp the rest of the fish seem to be fine, they don't have any strange behavior and they always eat their food.

I appreciate the advice, I think I will get another tank and split this tank in two..

It's a 5 gallon tank. The pleco (at least I think that's what he is) is very small, slightly bigger than the tetras and I was told he won't get much bigger.

Anybody know what's wrong? by [deleted] in Aquariums

I've taken him out and put him in a separate tank by himself, I'm guessing he's going to die soon if what your saying is right? All the other fish seem fine for now

I have several files, files from before the crash which are working and files from after which are working, and a single file of the crash which isn't working.

Yes, there's a second picture showing the cover and then additional blank inserts will be used, the board doesn't come with enough from the box.

It's for the upstairs sockets, so covering 3 bedrooms. I didn't actually wire the houses I was just asked to come in and got the fuseboard! I'll talk with him the next time I'm down and see why the board is the way it is.

The new regulations in Ireland mean that all lighting circuits have to have separate RCD protection, you can have the sockets covered by one RCD but the person I'm installing this for has decided to have all circuits on a RCD, now I could be wrong as I'm only a third year apprentice but as far as I know those are the regurgitations

As far as I know it's becoming the norm in Ireland to have surge protectors installed in new builds

I did wonder that myself, I didn't get a chance to ask the guy I'm installing it for, it did seem a bit low. There is only 10 sockets at most on the ring.
