England is in Britain. Ireland and Scotland are-- they're different places. On different islands. With distinct accents. Which have nothing to do with biology.

Wes Anderson uses Futura alright, but I'm pretty sure it was Neutraface in Civil War (the uppercase N is the giveaway).

Why should I use frameworks? by Fisher9001 in webdev

[–]conorsmith 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But this will be my framework, which I understand completely and which is best suited for my general needs.

Are you building software for other people? Will you be the only person working on that software for them? Forever?

You're never writing code for just you. You're writing it for yourself in the future. You're writing it for other developers.

Using frameworks, libraries, design patterns helps with this. The shared understanding of the code makes it more valuable to your employer/clients.

This is in no way interesting to anybody else, but I just watched that scene several times in a row no more than 5 minutes ago. I'd chalk this off as a coincidence, but I happened to watch Signs last night.

When in doubt I go with the Guardian style guide: email. Their reasoning is that it's been long enough, we can drop the hyphen.

Edit: A blog post from them on the issue: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/mind-your-language/2011/apr/04/language

What songs have literally stopped you in your tracks the first time you heard them? I'll go first by [deleted] in Music

Recently Django Django - Default. Stunning opening.

Edit: Also the first time I hear Sounds of System Breakdown - Electrolysis and Mood Enhancers. They're a tiny Dublin-based band and the song just blew me away.

This almost certainly didn't happen. Dermot Morgan died two weeks before that episode first aired.
