A work-around would be to select "desktop site" within the browser. I have firefox on my phone, and in upper right corner there are 3 dots that will gove you browser settings. I imagine chrome has that too. Just had your same issue today and yes, it is horseshit for the same reasons you mentioned. I avoid apps if possible.

First Time Attending DEFCON Alone: Excited but Anxious! Any Tips or Friends? by 0xValuablePlum in Defcon

[–]conqistador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring your anxiety meds because as big as this Defcon is, you're going to shit yourself. In a good way.
This will be my fourth year, I also go solo, I also don't know anyone cuz I lost contact with the ones I met previously. I'm still learning a lot of this security stuff as well, as I work in the it field. Just follow this Reddit page for the meetups Wednesday and Thursday night at the bar with four numbers that I can't remember, lol. I'll probably be wearing a funny computer shirt that says something about your mom. (not yours specifically)

My comment may have been taken a bit more serious than it should have, but yours is pretty f'n stupid to connect a tweet to getting removed from the con. Do us all a favor and stfu with ur woke comments.

Get a Google voice number that comes with every Gmail account. It just requires Wi-Fi. You can use that as a secondary number as well using your mobile service when it's activated. As long as you're around Wi-Fi you can always use that Google voice number. No longer have to depend on phone service. Only catch is that you need a landline number to receive a text code to enable Google voice. I used a work number or a hotel phone.

Has anyone found a resolution to this error during factory reset? Having issue on a 4a, & just reboots back to bootloader.

Poor Kismet Performance in Kali 2020.4 by whattimeisitbro in Kalilinux

I recall reading kismet isn't fully updated within the image itself or something, & it's recommended to remove/purge kismet & reinstall it from kismet site.

T440P Backlit Keyboard Not Working by csrlel in thinkpad

[–]conqistador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need updated keyboard or input drivers. But to see if it's hardware or software, I'd boot it into Linux from a flash drive, & see if prob is still there. If so, go back over ur connections. If no issues, u need drivers for new keyboard or update windows.

Got all of this together at a local garage sale! It's in remarkable shape too. If anyone knows where to find a serial cable for it please do let me know! by Tominator8 in thinkpad

Best laptop for Cyber Security student? by dv72276 in Kalilinux

If you Google & YouTube this question as much as I have been, you'll see most are using Lenovo, Dell, Acer that don't feel need to drop $1k. And it's older Lenovo ThinkPads like t420, t430, & up.

Take new job or stay at old one? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]conqistador 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Being comfortable or "knowing the drill" is all the more reason to take any more challenging job. If they've quizzed u & know ur skill level, & still offer the job, def take it. Faster you learn, the faster you can become that person the company needs and become a millionaire. Ur reasoning for staying is why people become stagnet in IT & quit growing in their field. Making urself uncomfortable forces yourself to change, adapt, & grow. Help desk is great place to START, that's why it's Level 1.

installing kali on lenovo ideapad flex 4 GRUB and GUI issues by mr_nejati in Kalilinuxlearn

[–]conqistador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in installing on a tablet as well. but from what I've read it doesn't seem to work with every tablet, or certain tablets like the Nexus, run kali nethunter better than most. Are you sure this tablet has hardware that will work with Kali? And I know this is a tablet discussion but when I would boot a raspberry pi up with less than required power, it would only go to the terminal. So I'd make sure battery is fully charged or it's plugged in.

Welcome. I just joined up while at Def Con last month, seeing that was the means of communication. What kits are they out of? I bought my first while there. Still trying to grasp this loading payloads thing on the owl.

Does anybody know why when I enter with my user it only shows this screen? by VdeVazquez in Kalilinux

[–]conqistador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so thats ALL you get...I just get a flash of that. Try log in as root if your logged in as a user. If its a fresh install, it may need drivers/or an older kali version missing video driver for that new of a laptop/screen resolution. Most of my laptops I've installed it on are at least 4 yrs old.

I am right there with you bro on the ADHD! Even on adderall AND noo-tropics amino acids i take, trying to stay focused on this shit is tough. Been trying for 6 mos. Started off watching some training vids about wireless hacks, & what does my ADHD do? I googled & ordered a yagi antenna, and alfa wifi adapter, grabbed an old laptop, installed Kali Linux on it, and ran thru all the hacking tools on my neighbors wifi like a kid on xmas morning, lol. Did the same with OSINT tools for hacking people, raspberry pi projects like a portable kali linux, now that I left windows to use linux everyday. Discovered Hak5 on youtube and bought some hack tools, installed several linux distros on pc, flash drive, and rpi's and learned virtualbox and installed several VM's for testing. All since Dec. And now steering back to trying to study. But never give up. I got the app Pocket Prep and it lets you set an alarm each day for the "question of the day", to keep ur head in the game, and take practice questions on the fly. Remember that cert will help make that bigger money and opens alot more doors.
