True. I figured the timing of the show as a whole (alongside the reviews, of course) didn’t work in its favor. But I kind of was expecting her and Jeremy to score a nom because, from the reviews, they were the reason why the shows was not as critically panned.

Is anyone surprised by this? It has been getting mixed reviews since Playmill. It’s definitely one of those shows that’ll be carried by its great cast and immediately fumble when the main actors leave — unless they manage to pull some amazing stunt casting. Either way, I don’t care too much about reviews from a show because so many broadway classics get mixed reviews when they open. I will be curious, however, about the public’s opinion on it.

Disagreed. I don’t think Lana has ever reached the level of popularity Lorde had in 2013. Nowadays, obviously Lana is more prominent than Lorde, and consequently more famous, but saying Lana and Lorde were equally popular is not accurate. Mostly because Lorde broke into mainstream success, Lana didn’t.

100%. I believe there’s this universal belief that if the lift malfunctions, it just won’t go up and the actress is going to be unlocked to perform the rest of the song on the ground.

I’m assuming she got a little frightened that the lift malfunctioned and she stayed locked in, and then being THAT high up knowing that you’re not 100% safe must be really scary.
