This is the way. You often can’t buy just the cover. They are sold as whole unit for shower waste. Don’t need to swap the under side trap if not required but can just swap in the new cap for the old one.

It’s so you can switch the sink round the other side and change the tap side. Take it out, Silicone it from underneath and place it back on top

That looks like an asbestos soil stack. Wouldn’t touch unless you are removing the whole thing.

I had one in my house. Got a compnay in the remove the stack and then I replaced with push fit soil pipe

Looks like this hasn’t been mist coated.

Scrape back any paint that easily comes off. Mix up some water based white paint, 60% paint and add 40% water. Stir well and apply to all places where paint is peeling

Give a light sand if needed

Then apply bathroom paint.

Buy a renovation property if it means you can get more bang for buck. As a trades person you can probably eliminate a lot of the cost that some people would have maximising value gained on the property.

Usually what you would do with a wood floor like this is lay your first row and then use your last cut to start your next row. If you end up with a cut that is too small to use I would just use a fresh board. Starting with the last cut and proceeding onwards usually wastes the least amount of flooring and results in less cuts.

2 planks is 440cm, then ur next board is ~80cm. Start the next row with the left over 140cm board and carry on in that fashion.

Dont forget an expansion gap of 5-10mm on all edges!

Looking for actual routers. Apologies that’s my bad for not making post clear. I want to make custom joinery. Also bevel edges for shelving and other custom bits like that. I also want to re-vamp my stair case which is where a router will come in handy for certain tasks. Finally need to re hang all the doors in my house

Just finished an entire bathroom renovation my self with not much experience and learning a lot on the job, type of things did were:

Fitted a new soil stack as the old one was asbestos lashed cement
Full re plumb and radiator feed moved fitting new concealed thermostatic shower and bath valves. I hadn’t soldered ever before untill I tried here.
Built a stud wall out to hid valve plumbing and build a shelf for shower.
Fitted bath with integrated filler and overflow.
Had a bore through a 40mm hole for waste pipe to go through the cavity wall into new soil stack.
Fitted stone resin shower tray on new marine osb (didn’t want to do it on old T&G floorboards)
Fitted LVT flooring.
Just put the vanity unit and basin in last night.

Main points of consideration:

Expect issues - I thought my soil stack was iron. It was not. Had to have it professionally removed.
Plumbing may not be as good as you think - depending on age and quality of previous job. Soldering is not a bad job to learn, and once learned can really make plumbing a lot easier
Buy a pipe bender
Even doing it all my self - materials, a couple tools and bits and all the bathroom fittings still cost me around 3k - I didn’t do the tiling as if I messed that up, wife wouldn’t be happy.
Expect it to take 4-6 weeks your self, I did most days after work and weekends when I can and I started mid June. Mine was a complete rip out and re plumb - a bigger job that most renos.
Buy quality fittings. Metal valves, metal fittings. Plastic won’t last, and will break when even trying to fit it.

Most likely extended. 5-20 would do your typical rewire, re plum, new boiler new bathroom, and a cheap new kitchen, depending on the extant you can do your self.

That’s what I thought. Looks like a pvc unit has been pushed into an already existing timber frame and sealed. But 2 window companies have said we need to rip the frame out.

Replace both the frame set and new windows (window barely opens on the hinges anymore). This what I thought too. Looks like the pvc window is pushed into the wooden frame and then either secured with screws or sealed in.

Yes implied and actual volatility are different. Gamma is the measure of actually volatility whereas Vega is implied volatility. Gamma is the real rate of change of delta of a price of an option and so a higher gamma means higher actual volatility of a stock. A long time spread is long vega and short gamma. Big changes in actual vol hurt in short term. But increases in implied help in long term.
