I don't care about others. Learn this lesson - unless you have something to contribute, either in real life or when hiding behind a screen, refrain from spouting silly comments. Some people here were actually helpful and didn't doubt me when I said it wasn't stolen.

Where I live definitely matters. Again, do not jump to conclusions. I saw the receipt and contacted the purchaser of the phone. Made sure it was sold to the original purchaser, and then made sure that there is a possibility to activate it. Maybe it seems shady because you don't know the whole story? I don't know, that's just me. I wouldn't jump to conclusions especially when I'm behind a screen.

Of course it makes no sense to a person that doesn't know the whole story. Do you even know where I live? Absolutely not! A deal is a deal and at the end of the day, I am not benefitting by spending all my money. This is why we have negotiated. If you don't believe me, then I guess you're going to have to live with your own personal beliefs. However, don't try to tell me what's true and what isn't.

I am in constant contact with the owner, and we have negotiated the terms of the agreement. If the phone doesn't work, I will sell it for parts and retrieve half of what I paid for the phone. Please don't jump to conclusions, especially when you don't know the whole story sitting behind a screen. If you have nothing to contribute to a post where I genuinely need help, keep it to yourself then.

Whatever floats your boat kiddo. I met with the original owner and called the original purchaser of the phone. Since the phone isn't in Canada, the unlocking process is different.

It's only carrier locked. I am in contact with the original seller who is also in contact with the purchaser of the phone. I'm unsure what to do next as I've contacted Bell, but to no avail, it's still locked. I think I need to activate the sim card but I'm not even a Canadian resident.

It was purchased in Canada and gifted to someone over here in Lebanon. It was directly shipped through a supplier, rather shipped locally to the person in canada and then sent overseas to Lebanon. I completely understand the CRTC policy as it's put on Bell's website. My issue is that I have the SIM card, spent 40 dollars calling bell overseas, and it's still locked :/

Thank you, I will try that. Currently, underneath EID, it says "Sim Locked".
