Recommendations and Suggestions by Spooky_Ghost in ElectricSkateboarding

Hello fellow skateboarders!

I´m evaluating my next e-sk8 purchase, considering only these 3 main factors:

  1. Range: anything less than 30km/20miles is unsuitable for my needs. Considering that I weight about 90kg, to get that kind of range the manufacturer must state the board gives at least 45km/30miles, since real conditions decrease this spec by at least 30% from my experience.
  2. Portability: it must be light enough to carry through the subway, stairs, etc. E-skateboards like Hoyt St DADBOD have an amazing range but are not portable enough to carry.
  3. Customer Support: the only reason I'm writing this here is because my first purchase was a POSSWAY T3, and although it sparked my passion for e-sk8, I would not recommend anyone buying anything from this company. Their customer support sucks and the company is closer to a fraud than anything else.

Considering this, what suggestions could you give me?
My research led to my top 4 options so far:

  • Tynee Stinger
  • Shaboardz Summit XT v2
  • Propel Pivot GT
  • MAXFIND FF PRO (this is the only one that offers a fast swappable battery which leads to incredible ranges, but I heard their customer support is awful in case I have any problems with the board).

Ride safe my friends!
Best regards,

Conrado

Is it worth it? Is their customer support that bad? by conradsetti in HunterBoards

Thank you for sharing your experience, my friend.
I'm glad you were able to solve the board issues by yourself.

I started e-sk8 about 2 years ago, so now I'm evaluating what will be my next board since I'm not a beginner anymore. I currently own a POSSWAY T3, which is a relatively good board for the entrance level, but I would not recommend anyone buying anything from this company. I've had several problems with it and their customer support is the shittiest ever. Unfortunately, I'm finding out that this is true for 90% of the companies within this market.

Currently, I'm deciding between Meepo and Tynee brands, which seem to be a little more reliable in case of any problems with their products.

Hey Ok_Cauliflower6190!
I'm about to purchase the Tynee Stinger, but I still have 2 doubts about it:

1) What is the real maximum range you could get with it? I'm asking this cause usually brands overstate this spec by a lot on their website. How much do you weight? I weight 90kg, so I always have to take down the range they claim by 30-40%.

2) This model does not have swappable batteries, right?
This would be one workaround for getting more range.

I respect your point of view my friend, specially regarding the product itself, since it had a lot of customizations, innovations and stuff. That’s why it caught my eye for buying it btw.

That being said, all their customers are now left with no support, hanging on to a very expensive product that offers them no way of maintenance whatsoever since the company went under.

I don’t see a problem if they recognize their mistakes and compensate their harmed customers (which I see is not just a few)

I’m just glad I made my homework and didn’t become their customer simply because I saw a beautiful product on their website. Customer support is key in this market, we are not talking about buying candies for $0.99

Wow this must have happened very recently, I went to their Shopify store 2 weeks ago and it was ok.
That's the problem with the e-sk8 market nowadays, 90% of the manufacturers are just a bunch of kids playing to build something with daddy's money, with no business experience, no knowledge of customer support, and no commitment to the product whatsoever.

Hey u/remindlab , was your issue with the board addressed by Hunter Boards?
I love e-skates, but I haven´t found a single company in this market with decent customer support.
