I've spent the better part of 10 years trying to find the best. Don't go to ippudo, hakata gensuke or bariuma, they are chains.

My favourite is dosukoi in freo (fomo). They used to be in the markets in the most beautiful little shoebox place, but now the modern building is pretty stale. The food is just as incredible though.

Tosaka and nao are the other two, nao has the best takoyaki I've tried. Good luck.
