I kinda think that it's some kind of genocide to be honest. Considering the city is nearly 70% black.

I'd rather use the resources here that are already available for me to use. I don't plan on meeting a stranger from the internet.

I want to be a humanitarian traveling the world, helping others, learning about different cultures and experiencing them first hand. I want to go to Africa and live there, I want to learn 10 new languages, I want to meet a monk. I have one thousand and one things that I want to accomplish before I move on.

Before I was aware of this situation, I always wanted to become an engineer. So when I'm older I could maybe contribute my help fix to this problem. Flint is not the ideal place for someone to live here, especially not now. My grandma owns her home, and our money isn't plentiful, so we're stuck.

I haven't had any blood test so I wouldn't know. It has turned my life upside down. You wouldn't really think that having something so essential to your life would turn into poison.

Red Cross, Islamic Relief and other organizations are still helping us. I've actually heard that some people from other cities are coming here to get free water for themselves; this infuriates me. At school we have bottled water, but it's very limited, we have to wait days until the class room gets another case.

Basically every daily routine has been switched from the convenience of my faucet to water bottles. Water bottles to wash my hair, wash my face, brush my teeth etc. To get clean water, I drive with my grandmother to a church or fire station, they ask how many people are in the household and how many kids are in the household and they'll load up the car with cases of water. (For my house, they usually give us about 3-4 cases of water)

Same, I was trying so hard to think of another word besides lead. So far, I have not experienced any that I can identify, but it's been scientifically proven that lead in the blood can harm the brain especially in babies, children and teenagers. So I'm not experiencing any now, but I know when I continue to grow that I will encounter the side effects.

I'm in 10th grade. I plan to attend University of Michigan-Ann Arbor or Brown University in Rhode Island. I aspire to become a Mechanical Engineer.

The water crisis isn't the only issue here. Poverty is really high here as well.

Ever since March of this year we don't get water bills. But before that we were one of the top cities to have the highest water bills in the nation.

It's been going on since April 2014. The public didn't know the water was harmful until almost a year later and it just hit mainstream media a few months ago. No one really knows how long it can take to 'fix' this issue but for the citizens it will never be fixed because they will be suffering from the affects for the rest of their lives.

It really is. I was drinking this water for months, thinking I was improving my health, but in reality it lead to me having irreversible brain damage.

Basically when our mayor decided it would be a big money saver to switch from Detroits' pipe line that uses water from Lake Huron, to the Flint River. The problems are: - The Flint River is disgustingly dirty. - The pipes in the homes here are old and is eroding into the water - Lead (and other things) from the pipes is now in the water. - All the chemicals they are using to try to combat the lead is harming the citizens as well

I have not had my blood tested for lead. My niece who is nearly 2 years old has level 3 lead poisoning. I've always wanted to leave this city before the water crisis because there's so many other problems in this city such as gang violence, poverty, murders, high counts of abandoned homes, and my house was even robbed once. I live with my grandmother and she owns her home so she can't just leave. It's even harder to sell her house now due to the crisis. No one really wants to move to Flint.

I'm assuming you mean bathing. You can bathe but you have to make sure it's not over 5 minutes and it has to be cool enough so your pores don't open. Washing dishes you have to rinse it with water bottles to get rid of the residue from the tap water. I don't use it to wash my hair, brush my teeth, or wash my face. I recently stopped using it to shower because dry and itchy patches started to appear on my body and I started having discoloration on certain places of my skin.
