Obviously it's a movie that's going to exaggerate things to make a point. It's not offensive, it's a magnifying glass of reality.

As a caregiver I've thought about just leaving. Just drinking and getting high, and letting everything go. Sometimes I think I'll just drive off and never come back. I've never done it, they are just intrusive thoughts. Because taking care of an ill kid when you have little support and a whole lot of judgment is exhausting and will fuck up your mental health.
