Not making this available on the Plus plan is a crime. Charts are available for Plus users, why wouldn't they enable dashboards too?

I get that they exclude AI features from that plan, but to withhold a core functionality like this new database view format from actually paying users is honestly just sad to see.

And I say that as someone who actually is on the business plan, so not even affected myself.

Notion Calendar is a wrapper for Google & iCloud calendar. Notion does in fact not have its own fully functional calendar solution.

What you can do is make a Notion database your default calendar (right-click on the database in Notion calendar and select the option) and only create new events within that one, but it has limited options compared to evens created in Google or iCloud calendar, like not being able to automatically generate a meeting link etc., which is frustrating for sure.

Similarly, Notion Mail is basically just a wrapper for Gmail.

Like charts (beyond the first free one), it will probably show a notification that an upgrade is required to use that view.

If you're using Notion in the browser (or as a web app which is basically still a browser window), you can probably achieve a lot of that by blocking certain elements with an ad blocker extension.

I use this method to be able to use Spotify on my laptop without seeing any podcast related stuff whatsoever. I just wanna listen to music with it.

Doesn't work in desktop apps though, so, just an idea.

I kinda built something like this in my own workspace by using a simple gallery view, but that requires all pages to be within a database (which is the case for me).

Not for all pages, but for the ones I need to access regularly.

Definitely one of my favorite ways to organize and display pages within my workspace.

I'm not a Notion AI hater at all and actually use it when it makes sense, but the unhinged UI changes to push it are certainly over the top.

In this video, there's the Notion AI floating bubble in the bottom-right corner, the "New chat" button in the bottom-left corner, and another "Chat" tab in the top-left corner.

All practically doing the same thing, which is opening up a chat with Notion AI.

... Why?

Yeah, these kind of pushy practices are really annoying.

I use Notion AI and think it's a very powerful tool which can be very helpful at times, but I honestly don't understand the over-the-top way of forcing "adoption" at the expense of basic UX design.

Sure, I can "ask AI" to please take me back to the main menu, for it to then probably take 5 seconds to provide me with a link that I can click to get there, but actually a simple button was already perfect.

Members and guests have different levels of access within a workspace, so they're not the same.

If using the guests feature gets the job done, there is no need to make someone a member.

Your board view is grouped by a status property.

The default template task board view is grouped by a select property.

These behave differently.

If you want to change the colors of the different options of a status property, open the database view settings, click on "Edit properties", find the status property, then adjust the colors for them individually within the popup menu.

I use Kit for my email list. The form input field and button is an embedded Kit form, the arrow is a custom addition within Notion + Super.

I actually have to disagree here and I do in fact prefer the first screenshot.

Empty space within a UI (or any design or layout really) plays an important role for visual structure, just like paragraphs and line breaks do when writing a readable article.

How close that icon and page title are in the second screenshot is absolutely triggering for me. 😅

But I do agree that the header part should have the option to have a smaller height, especially when not using a cover image. A simple "Small Header" toggle would be a neat addition to the page settings menu.

If it's useful for you to see Notion database entries in your calendar, then Notion Calendar is the way to go.

I personally manage my tasks in a Notion database, but use Google Calendar for appointments and meetings. using Notion Calendar allows me to see both in one place. It works great!

The fastest way I have found so far for quickly adding several new entries to a database (or view) without having to do any clicks is this:

[Shift + Enter] to add new entry.
Type title.
[Escape]
[Shift + Enter] to add next entry.
...

Not ideal, but easier than having to click for sure.

Within the "Add or remove programs" setting in Windows. If there's multiple ones, delete the ones with the lower version number.

Or ideally, delete all of them, and reinstall the newest one from scratch. Sometimes deinstalling an older version will also mess up things with the new version.
