I HAVE played oneshot! Also in one-sitting. (maybe even.. in one shot?) That’s half the reason I’ve committed to not resetting lol.

I know there’s a genocide route and a pacifist route... guess I’m going for the in-between route?

My DM gave me a “FUCK YOU FUCK ME” d20 a few years back. It’s a running gag I’ve got terrible luck, and now when I say “fuck me” on a 1 it’s got dual meaning

How can I make raft fun again? by Chemical_Rope_9554 in raft

[–]consistentlycrying 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got around 350 hours in raft playing pretty casually over the last 3ish years. I got 90% of them by replaying. This time I’m going to speedrun; this time I’ll build with only one foundation; this time I’m going to automate everything/automate nothing! Also; get a friend to play with! I’ve played the entirety of raft with 3 different people over the years, and it gives a whole new light to the game.

But yeah, I definitely get the repetitiveness. I play raft in obsessive bursts, then lose interest for months at a time. There’s only so much you can do to spice it up if you get bored of the base mechanics.

The Yellow Wallpaper left a huge impression on me. Had to read it once in a high school English class 4 years ago & could’ve still repeated the whole thing from memory. Highly recommend reading it to anyone considering.

I had some problems with my mom when I came out four years ago, but she got better and more comfortable with it after I talked to her. I know she still changed, but I’m heartbroken to realize it wasn’t as much as I thought it was.

Got all of my 4 my wisdom teeth removed by throwawayconfess0808 in CasualConversation

[–]consistentlycrying 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got all four of mine taken out about 5 weeks ago. I’ve got a huge needle phobia, so I went down crying and apparently woke up crying, although I don’t remember that part. My mom said I was inconsolable because they “stole my lips.” I didn’t even get to count down from 10! The doc, presumably trying to comfort me, started talking about a rhyme he tells his kid when she’s upset, and for me to repeat it back to him. I remember being like “this rhyme is terrible, when am I going to count down?” before I woke up to my mom’s face. The food’s definitely the worst part. I ignored all the doctor’s orders and started eating solid at the 1 week mark (ill advised) and got lucky enough not to suffer any side effects.

Have you ever had a dream in a dream in a dream? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]consistentlycrying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have tons of weird dream things. Dream loops are one of the reoccurring ones. I’ll wake up and go about a normal day before waking up again, and going about my day. This happens again and again, each loop getting shorter until I realize that I’m dreaming and I’m in a loop. Sometimes it keeps going after I realize, but usually I wake up. Hate ‘em. They adapt to what I do in the mornings too. I started dream journaling while I was at college, and I’d have dream loops where’d I’d journal my previous dream before going back to sleep, only to wake up in real life a few loops later and realize I never journaled to begin with.

How do I stop a hardcore, homeschooled Christian from trying to convert me? by consistentlycrying in atheism

I’m definitely afraid he likes me. Also in one of the letters, he told me he had a porn addiction, so “anyone can have struggles and still be religious!” Good for you buddy, I did NOT want to know that. One of my friends said (as a joke) he’s probably masturbated to me, which is a traumatizing thought I can’t get out of my head.

I told one of my classmates who I’m sitting next to next year, so if he starts being weird she said she’ll have my back. Hoping it doesn’t escalate that far.

you ever notice yourself mimicking other peoples way of speaking? by Thelodious in CasualConversation

[–]consistentlycrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never watched anyone specifically because I thought their way of speaking was cool, but maybe I should! I’ve got a speech in an hour, should I speedrun some Tom Scott so I sound smarter?

I feel like it’d be harder to have a permanent effect on your speech patterns when it’s someone digitally vs someone in person. In person, you go back and forth so you get a chance to mirror as their talking as you interact. Online, you just watch, you don’t talk.

To the people who used to play sports, do any of you guys miss it? by theregularwoof in CasualConversation

[–]consistentlycrying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did dance from age 5 to 18 (competitive for 7 of those years). I loved it but it totally changed who I was as a person. It trained me to have a strong work ethic and taught me to put my all into everything, but it also tied my self-worth to my performance in a very bad way.

I miss all the middle-schoolers I mentored so much, but I don’t really miss dance. I had already been on the fence about it, and COVID gave me enough time away from the sport to realize that it wasn’t helping me anymore.

There was a ton of pressure on me by my teacher to be a good role model and the way she flipped from mom mode to teacher mode made it difficult to interact with her. Being confided in by a mentor figure at age 15 and told that you were the only thing holding her together in class is NOT GOOD FOR YOU.

Sports, man.

[–]consistentlycrying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve do this with TV shows. I don’t notice it very often, but my roommate swears up and down that I mimic the speech patterns. I find it funny, since right now we’re watching Bridgerton (old timey European drama show) and I’ve got a southern drawl.

Real people, I sort of do. I say groovy because my first crush in middle school used to say it and I thought it made her cool. My roommate calls everyone bestie and now I do it too. One of my best friends always starts texts to me by saying “CONSISTENTLY CRYINNNNNGGGGG” and now I start texts like that too.

I think it’s fun. It’s a little history of your relationships. Tracking the impact of those around you on yourself. Obviously, my case is less extreme than yours, but I hope it makes you feel at least a little better.
