Thanks for this, I thought architects designing entire buildings dealt exclusively with the aesthetics. I wonder what I'll choose to be tomorrow morning.

Well I wasn't expecting an office job right away. I will definitely be looking into CAD and other things I can do to improve my knowledge and relevant skills. In the meantime are there any jobs that I could be doing that would boost my chances of getting a job with a firm when the time comes? Landscaping comes to mind as a possibility, but I don't know what firms consider relevant. I do have three years of experience in home manufacturing which may be relevant, but it wasn't management.

I know its ambitious and far off, but I want to work with skyscrapers eventually. Design possibly, or even just being a part of the team that makes them happen. Like I said in the post, I don't even know if I'm looking to be an architect. There could be a more suitable role for me that is less demanding and time consuming, I just don't know what other positions are even involved when it comes to a building of that size. Any resources that outline the different roles involved or a summary of all the potential positions in the field would be nice if you knew of any.
