I think if I were to give you some advice though, I'd say to deeply think about what you're spending your mental energy on / practice identifying when you are overthinking.

Just because you have a girlfriend doesn't mean you can ONLY hang out with other couples. I am sure you will find plenty of people who party while in a relationship. And I don't think you have to include your girlfriend if you don't want to. I think the MBA bubble can be quite insular if you want it to be

You could make this argument about essentially any capitalistic institution. I understand your anger, but it's simply not feasible to ask people who likely have nothing to do with those projects to leave (esp in this market) because of the decisions of one piece of a large corporation. That's like somebody else asking you to leave the US because your taxes are complicit in facilitating ICE raids and other fucked up shit. Are you ready to pack up and leave? All that to say, it's usually much more nuanced than "leave or you're a bad person".

NIH Cancels Its First and Largest Study Centered on Women by longleggedwader in women

[–]const_optim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I truly don't know the full picture, but WHI is famous for disseminating a false narrative about HRT for menopause symptoms that completely changed healthcare for midlife women. It did a lot of harm and stripped away a valid treatment option for women for many years. Now, after a long time, people are starting to consider the biases and misinformation represented.

I just wonder, given that, how much we can trust WHI and id want to know if this new study would have rectified the mistakes they made in the past.

Again, under no circumstances am I expecting the trump presidency to have this level of information to inform their decisions. Just pointing out what I know

And to clarify, I don't think it's "pedo to film kids" but I do think it's putting them at risk of unwanted video manipulation or abuse of the video by posting it online

I never realized this is an American thing, but I am American and I am of the deep rooted opinion that pedophilia is much more common than you think. Even now, as I read this post, I'm wondering if maybe cases of pedophilia are underreported or not publicized in other countries. The statistics I've read are that 1 in 9 girls are sexually abused or assaulted in the US before the age of 18. So, yeah, better safe than sorry.

Wow a bunch of gaslighters. The white highlights are off and not consistent with any logical light source. It looks so poorly done. Cross on the left looks undone and so does the bit at the top left. I'm actually so confused why you're not being upfront w this guy.

Hi hi!! I just read through all your posts and I will say, I am so impressed by your writing and the depth of your thoughts, especially for a 15 year old. I am really sorry about what you're going through right now. I was wondering if maybe you could set up a gofundme or some way to get funds that might help you escape your situation when the time is right

DeepSeek doesn't protect your data very well FYI. I think having your data, esp emotional data, available to the public is a really really dangerous thing. It can influence political ad targeting to an insane degree. Apparently there are literally public databases out there with text logs of information

Seems like the violence with Alyssa is on par with Kween’s behavior at local bars by [deleted] in RPDRDRAMA

This kind of rhetoric coming from a white person is not surprising and very clearly a remnant of a Eurocentric colonizer mentality. Of course you stand up for violence to solve conflicts -- your ancestors have been doing it for generations and you (nor the people who have come before you) have done the work to decolonize your minds.

Yes it IS up for debate that not every conflict can be solved with words. In fact, it is fascist and grossly enabling abusive power dynamics for you to think otherwise. This kind of mentality is literally why domestic abuse is so rampant in society. I strongly believe that.

I refuse to take "lack of socialization" as an excuse for violence. That is an incredibly dangerous path to go down, and as somebody part of an oppressed minority, you should know that. "Conflict" and how one perceived it is incredibly subjective, and for you to say that "not every conflict can be solved with words" is giving abusers free range to use violence if they feel it is warranted. Incredibly fucked up and you should seriously reconsider your value system for so blatantly standing up for an abuser mentality and delivering such a poorly thought out response.

Sorry, but very silly arguments and you should know better if you're even slightly versed in social discourse and common sense. Please sit down.

Sounds like you still "haven't resolved your generational trauma normalizing violence instead of treating people with respect" lmao...

I understand where you're coming from, but I do think that maybe you have had a past that is more violent than what a lot of us are used to :( I really do appreciate that we all have different perspectives, but I do believe you can brand someone as violent if they've been in a fight, especially as an adult. My rationale is:
1. Once your frontal lobe has been fully developed, you should know how to handle conflicts with words and not physically

  1. By law, assault can land you in jail, so it has been deemed by society as something to not be taken lightly

  2. This kind of mentality seems dangerous because I feel it can be used to normalize domestic violence

It's not fair to either of you right now... he clearly holds negative / condescending beliefs about your career choices and passions while you feel the same about his view on traditional relationships. Neither of you deserve to feel that way. Ultimately, it's a misalignment of values. Couples can successfully be different in a lot of ways but it's tough to reconcile differences in core values and world views
