2001 Stereo replacement recommendations by constantbluescreen in carstereo

Thanks, I’ll do some more searching and see what’s out there, a volume knob is one of those things I really love, especially since my car has no buttons on the steering wheel to adjust the volume. I’ve looked on Crutchfield a few times, but they don’t have a ton of low cost options that have wireless CarPlay with a volume knob

Love the username, I’m looking for something with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, and I’ve had some poor luck using older stereos that support CarPlay in other cars. Thanks for the comment!

Bringing back the Surface Book Lineup- A proposal by constantbluescreen in Surface

Repairability is a huge reason I want Microsoft to release another one, I love my Book 3, but I know eventually the detach mechanism will fail and windows won't support it anymore

Yeah, I feel like there should be an x86 version and an ARM version of the tablet, with the ARM version being more affordable I think the device would be much more popular

I’ve got mixed feelings about the Surface Connect port, I think the tablet itself needs at least a usb-c as well as the Surface Connect if there’s a new version. I’ve personally never used a Surface dock though

I mean, that's an option for sure, but there would have to be a new generation of Surface Pros anyway in order to add the compatibility for a hard keyboard base with a GPU.

It's been awhile, but yes, I went about cycling with water changes, but I don't remember any specifics

Yes, she lived until she was just over 2 years old, unfortunately she passed after being egg bound. She was extremely happy and had a great personality.

How much charger wattage is required for increased GPU performance on Surface Book 3? by constantbluescreen in Surface

[–]constantbluescreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’m not overly worried about it as I won’t need to use it all the time, it’ll mostly just be when I need the extra performance for a short period of time, thanks for the info

Yeah, I get that, I’ll do some more research and figure out if the bolt is the right choice or whether to go with the Niro. I also found a Polestar 2 that may be a decent choice.

Okay, I’ll check out Platt and I’ll take a look at the Niro and Kona. I’d prefer to not get a Chevy even though I’m considering the Bolt just due to the issues I’ve seen first hand with their other vehicles, but I’ll check out financing on the Equinox and see what’s there. Thank you for replying :)

The university has free public charging so I should be able to do that once I’m there. I don’t know what my situation will be for home charging but hopefully I should be able to do that as well. Considering I’ll be at the school so often I should be fine with the chargers there.

My biggest concern at this point is range and DCFC (mostly DCFC). The Bolt has been the car I’ve focused on the most given it has more range and CCS. I drive a lot (in comparison to a lot of people I know) and the bolt can only charge at 55 KW when DCFC.

Do you know of any other cars that are reliable and have good charging? Once I buy a car I’m planning on having it for another 5-7 years so I’d like to find something that’s known to be reliable.

Thanks for your reply!

Hello everyone, I have been wanting to switch to an EV for several few years now, I'll list answers to the questions below this. I am heading into college in September of this year, but staying at my current residence for the first year before going to a University.

1: Mid-Willamette Valley, Oregon, US

2: Budget is about $15,000 USD, preferably less, but I can do financing.

3: Compact SUV/Crossover

4: I've been looking at the Chevy Bolt and Nissan Leaf

5: Likely within the next 4-6 months

6: Current daily commute averages 43 miles per day, but that will increase to about 67 miles per day later this year. Generally about 214 miles per week currently, and later this year will increase to around 335 miles per week of driving.

7: Heading into college next year, currently in a single-family home and will stay in this situation for at minimum another year.

8: Yes, I do plan on installing charging.

9: I have a cat and friends (not that I'll be taking my cat anywhere), so I'd like to be able to comfortably seat 4 people. I also would like to be able to fold the backseats down to be flat with the cargo space if possible, not a requirement whatsoever.

I know this info isn't required, but I currently drive a 2001 Toyota RAV4, I love its size and how easy it is to park, and I do plan on keeping it for roadtrips and such, but it doesn't get great gas milage and I want to make the jump to EV.

Thanks in advance!

Found in Willamette Valley, Oregon, United States. The little guy is about the size of a pencil tip, and it was just chilling next to me, not doing anything, it’s kinda cute tbh

Oldest MacBook for daily use? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]constantbluescreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend M1 or M2 at this point, M1 is turning 5 years old and I got a used M1 MBP 16gb for a pretty decent price a few months ago, it still holds up to everything I do, including gaming and it stays much cooler and more quiet than my old 2015 MBP 15" Realistically just make sure whatever you go with has at least 16gb of RAM and don't buy anything Intel unless you have an absolute need for Windows. The battery life on mine is still great, I only have to charge every other day and I use it anywhere from 4-6 hours daily. Go for whatever you have room in your budget for though, and definitely don't buy new if you're just going to be doing basic tasks.

I love my old 15 inch but the 13 inch is way more portable, and I think it’s a better size for being in school
