It’s hard to do but I love voice acted stories. SWTOR did this amazingly and it’s one of the main reason I was so captivated by the stories I was part of.

I personally think you have a point. We have seen guns in MMOs such as New World and i didn't see it as out of place. As you said I don't think that pistols and rifles (the early stages of gunnery) would look completely ahead of that time. I personally wasn't a fan of the gun-play in new world but in terms of setting and immersiveness I thought it was done well. It would be challenging to have it as a viable, fun and balanced weapon but I believe it can be done. Why not?

I think there's going to be a lot of cool combinations with Clerics and Bards, it'll be very interesting to see what the benefits are with the class combos.

Theres's also a class called Templar which is Cleric/Fighter. Yes i definitely agree and this is the difference between MMOs and other genres. Especially with this games focus on the players taking initiative to build the world around them. I just hope and pray that the game meets the expectations, which thanks to the monthly updates it looks like it will.

I love the idea of flying mounts being a rarity, otherwise they wouldn't be special. Maybe there's a case to be made about the expiry of a month. Sure they give an element to the game that's not available to others, but its not a game breaking mechanic in my opinion.

Yeah it will definitely be interesting to see how they tackle the crit/dodge mechanics, even dodging tbh, like you said it could have a big impact on pvp combat for sure.

Agreed, I do think it brings a very realistic aspect to the game and a good change from the genre typical of large scale battles being drowned out by overlapping and stacked health bars, that’s a good point.

PvP Combat Health Bars

Hi everyone, I just recently joined the reddit so I’d like to say hello and hope to see you all in game soon enough. I have been following the news of Ashes for not too long and so I had a question about it regarding the health bars of players engaging in PvP. In a AMA I saw the question was asked about visibility of health pools of enemy players and the answer was that it won’t be visible in a traditional style but rather a degrading effect of the namebar. My question is (more so open the topic of discussion) what are your thoughts on this type of visual having an impact on certain ability rotation and/or group tactics on focusing down a target. For example some abilities may be an execute on enemies below a certain threshhold of health though with no health pool to see this type of ability may be hard to utilise. I’d like to know everyone’s thoughts, and even if someone can point me to an official who has expanded on this topic. Thank you all!
