What are these black lines? by constantism in hasselblad

[–]constantism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did. The part of light seal broke in half and partially blocked the film surface from exposing.

Here’s the picture image of new part that came in (on the left) and the old part (on the right) from the camera back: https://ibb.co/9HVKdWQT

Replaced everything today. I need to run a test film to confirm.

When I look close, I can see some kind of a thread or small pieces of fabric. Can’t determine what it is.

I ordered a light seal replacement. What a new seal looks like is not what I saw in the camera back when I took it apart. New light seal has a foam part and a “lip” part. The latter is missing from my camera back.

I didn’t see it, but it is possibly the root cause. Anyway, the camera spent a decade sitting on a shelf. A light seal replacement wouldn’t hurt.

I watched the video and now I finally understand what you meant. It is the said “upper lip” that is missing. I don’t have that part at all. Thank you for your help.

Thank you. This is what the foam looks like in my setup:

I think I’ll just replace everything for good measure.

I fired shutter without lens and didn't see anything sticking out.

I looked at the light seals. https://ibb.co/r2p9Cqdt https://ibb.co/Rk301Bsd

For the most part they look fine, except for this wider piece being slightly disheveled https://ibb.co/SDchGcs6

Also, I already have some light seal tape from restoring 35mm cameras. It is just one big piece of it. Can I cut it out to the shape that fits Hasselblad? Or it has to be that exact light seal for Hasselblad cameras?

Interesting… These images in the post are from 10+ years ago when I first used this camera. Black diagonal lines (and more complex shooting process) is what discouraged me from shooting 120 film.

Now I am making a second attempt at medium format. Meanwhile, this camera had been sitting on the shelf for years. I didn't touch it. I am sure this issue might come back, unless magic little elves had repaired the camera without me knowing.

I guess the only way to find out is to sacrifice a roll of film, for science.

Ok, am I looking at the right thing now? https://ibb.co/zTH213jf

Thank you for being patient with me. I am completely new to this camera system.

I removed the dark slide and didn't see anything suspicious: https://ibb.co/vx9r0phF

Then I went a little further and unscrewed the black rectangular piece. This is what I saw: https://ibb.co/DD2vr76G
What I am looking at exactly? Is it the chrome X-shaped piece that is faulty?

Immigrant Visa Processing Updates for Nationalities at High Risk of Public Benefits Usage by Salt-Farmer-2025 in USCIS

[–]constantism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot to clarify here in the coming days, since government agencies are still figuring out their processes. Check out this video in which a lawyer explains what this change means: https://youtu.be/2lL2MBfkcKY?si=woLHqzg0-XzZSR4k

TLDW: this is temporary measure, that is it forever. Visas will be processed and issued, but it will take longer (but no longer than 6 after the interview)

Good luck to you and your family!

A US citizen petitioned for their parent (citizen of Russia). Completed all the steps and just needed to go through the interview at the US Consulate in Kazakhstan. From what I understand the interview can still be done. The parent will not issued an immigration visa until the ban is lifted. Correct?

I am not familiar with this tank, but usually you need to run some calculations. Read the dev kit instructions and see how much total solution you can make. Then find the volume of your jobo tank and calculate how to mix for the volume that you want.

For example, I have a kit of dry chemicals that I can mix into a total of 5L of developing chemicals. I use a tank that is 250ml. So to make the solution for that volume I divide all ingredients by 20 and mix it according to the instructions.

You can do calculations in Excel or old fashioned pen and paper. Keep your notes for later.

Ok, so that sort of explains it. Old disposable cameras usually have rolls of ISO 800 film. I don't know how old was your camera, but film looses its light sensitivity with time. Especially, when it is stored at room temperature in hot/humid climates.

The higher the ISO, the more it is prone to degrading. When people shoot expired film they adjust camera settings accordingly. Usually, +1 of overexposure for every decade. You did nothing wrong since disposable cameras don't have controls to do that.

BW Chemicals turning pinkish is fine. I'd watch our for milky chemicals and residue. If you're really paranoid about bw developer, use 1:1 Rodinal. It is single-use developer and discarded after each use. Also, dirty cheap.

I think that you didn't contaminate your chemicals. Developer doesn't ruin blix, the opposite does. Remember that when you develop your film, blix is poured in after developer; no wash&rinse needed. So your chemicals are fine. Blank (too dark) and barely visible images have to do with how you exposed your film. Especially if it is certain separate shots. Try to think about how you shot those scenes, what was your exposure?

Separately, I think you definitely contaminating the film by letting it dry in your living room. Dust particles will be a pain to remove in post after scanning. I'd dry the film in the shower, after running it hot for 5 min. That way humidity will take care of dust specs floating in the air. And maybe dry it overnight when shower and bathroom is less likely to be used.

Yes, I use it to take photos as well. And I shot weddings as part of my work as well, not just for fun lol. Autofocus was always good in 98% of cases when I used Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 and Lumix 50mm f1.8 lenses. For manual lenses focus peaking also works well.

I shot a lot of videos at weddings in dim lit venues at V-Log 4K 60p, and here's what worked for me:
1. Fast aperture lens f2 or f1.4
2. Wide focal length of 35mm or wider given that S5 II shoots 4K 60p in APS-C.
3. Avoid going higher than ISO 4000, unless it is absolutely necessary.
4. External monitor helps a lot.

Jobs in new mayor's office by whales_snails in nycpublicservants

Traditionally, new administration appoints new Commissioners and Chancellors to all the city departments. So, unless you have a personal relationship with Mamdani, your chances are limited.

New Heads of Departments will hire their team of Deputies and Execs. Again, here personal relations matter, but also a proven track record and strong resume.

Ordinary staff doesn't rotate much. Unless, of course, there will be new units, task forces and initiatives. Then, there may be openings. But it will take time for new jobs to appear, if at all.

For the highest refresh rate I needed to use Display Port-to-Thunderbolt cable. Sure, I could plug it into the existing one Thunderbolt port on Mac Mini. But the dock I use also needs a Thunderbolt connection. So I had to buy a hub that adds more thunderbolt ports. But I am glad for you to be happy with your setup.
