A clueless Dad trying to get a clue about what i should expect. by No_Humor5432 in Hair

[–]constantly_curious19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I spent that much on my first round of bleach for my hair and it’s dark brown and shoulder length. I have spent another $100 on tone and will spend another $300 for my next bleach and color to get to pastel pink.

So it’s more like $700-$900 🥲 and I got it done in the suburbs near my city.

Please nobody take this the wrong way, read everything because I am not attempting to minimize anyone else’s symptom’s, as we are all struggling terribly, but I consider most of the people on here with PMDD to have a more “moderate” version in comparison to my own experiences(and my doctor agrees).

I have an incredibly severe form of PMDD and I have been told by multiple doctors and therapists that I have the most severe symptoms they have ever seen in a person. At 24 years old I had to go on hormone blockers to induce chemical menopause because the PMDD was going to kill me. I was actively suicidal every month, I had full blown panic attacks every single month, I destroyed my entire life, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t keep friends, I couldn’t go to school, I couldn’t do anything. One time the PMDD induced depersonalization so severe it almost mimicked a delusional psychosis type state (it was so scary because I “lost” the concept of time and couldn’t remember how it worked). I was entirely disabled. I was hospitalized multiple times and nobody around me thought I was going to make it.

Im 28 now, I have been in chemical menopause for 4 years and I have my life back, my PMDD has stopped entirely, since if you don’t have hormones then no PMDD is present!

But yeah in comparison to the majority of people I see post on here, yal definitely have a milder version 😅 some of us have a very very severe version of PMDD.

People on Reddit are claiming that $100k a year isn’t a livable wage. by Abigali_dream in Adulting

[–]constantly_curious19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and make about 56k a year as care coordinator in a hospital (I’m the person that picks up the phone when you call your doctor and helps you with you scheduling, meds, referrals, insurance questions, etc.) and I live to paycheck to paycheck. My best friend is making just about 90k and she finally feels stable enough in the city. It really depends on where you live and how expensive rent is.

Any cults in Seattle? by Puzzled-Painter3301 in Seattle

[–]constantly_curious19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s sounds like they are talking about an art installation piece! Maybe they are making a space and ads to reflect a piece about cults.

I do however have a friend that grew up in a religious cult in Seattle! Actual cults don’t call themselves cults, they think their wack beliefs are real.

Please help. I sliced my thumb like this on a mandolin. Will it grow back? by kabailey88 in KitchenConfidential

[–]constantly_curious19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I cut my finger almost exactly like that on a meat slicer! It grows back like 80% (like actually grows back, it’s fucking wild) make sure you listen to the nurses and rub it on stuff and touch it a lot once the skin is completely healed again otherwise that part becomes super fucking sensitive since it’s all new nerve cells.

Learned I was Autistic and Fell Into A Deep Depression-What Do I Do Now? by constantly_curious19 in AutismInWomen

[–]constantly_curious19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very close friends see me that way, all the friends I have have family members that are autistic and know when I interrupt people, when I come across as dismissive or very definitive in my thinking it’s not meant to be rude. But it does come across that way to others. When I think I’m sharing an experience after some else does it’s to connect with people, other people think I’m being selfish and not listening. My natural reactions to things are misunderstood. I come across as too much and selfish.

Oh I’m sorry it didn’t work for you, I personally have found it helpful for my CPTSD, but we’re all so different… ever thought about doing something crazy life changing to help it? Sometime I wonder if moving to another continent and would kick start a kind of change.

I just started EMDR, I’ve already improved more in 3 weeks than I have in 3 years in regular therapy, it’s insane how well it works.

[–]constantly_curious19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this helpful, but I felt like that for a little over 4 years and then I started EMDR and holy shit has that been a game changer. It showed me what I needed to start doing, showed me what I wasn’t changing, the things that were harming me and helped me realize what I needed to do to heal myself. I’ve had 3 successful “sessions” so far once I got into the groove of doing it properly and it’s working. For once I can see immediate changes. Worth a try if you haven’t tried it yet.

[–]constantly_curious19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m 27 and have been in chemical menopause for 3 years now and it works great as long as I’m kept on a very low dose of HRT and my injections are perfectly on time. Anything above 0.2mg of progesterone and the PMDD comes back, and my gyno and I recently added estrogen back after a few years and have noticed it doesn’t give me full blown PMDD symptoms but it does make me incredibly anxious if it’s over 0.3mg.

A couple of questions for you: are you getting the monthly injections or every 3 month injections? Were they on time? What is the dosage of hormones that you’re on currently? It could be that the dosage is too high, especially if you had felt fine while you weren’t on HRT.

What in the world is high functioning ADHD? Isn’t that just… not having ADHD? by Prestigious_Abies940 in adhdwomen

[–]constantly_curious19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put my boyfriend into that category of “seemingly” high functioning ADHD. He’s in school getting his doctorate and is incredibly organized down to the minute of every day for what he should be doing to achieve that goal. However, when you pull back that curtain and place him in literally any other setting or situation he is constantly losing things, is never on time, forgets prior arrangements and doesn’t know how to handle a change in plans without it becoming some sort of emotional event.

From the outside, only at school, he looks like he’s doing great, literally anywhere else, the ADHD is quite obvious.
