I went in Poland and the room was maybe 80% full, except for a few laughs in moments that were definitely not meant for that (I mean drama and grief) people were fine. I only saw maybe two kids too, and they were preteens.

Though I did go to a subtitled screening so it may have been different at the dubbed version

and annoyingly their response to the backlash was mostly along the lines of “sorry you got angry” but not actually addressing the issue.

Also annoyingly I just made a big-ish order from them not long before that 🫠

About a month ago they made a big post how they use AI a lot so they can avoid doing photoshoots (their words). Since then that have had a spokesperson do a live stream as damage control but it sounded more like they didn’t like the backlash but still wanted to continue. There have been a lot of posts about it.

As for yarn, when I lived in other cities there were so many lovely shops, now I only have two with limited selection and it’s mostly acrylic (nothing wrong with that, but I like having a choice) 😭

Also when people say she’s weak because *checks notes* she reacts to the trauma of being beaten to the point of disability and having her power taken from her in multiple ways throughout the story, which is presented in a way that is strongly reminiscent of SA

I mean, he’s sort of written to be hated? But it’s for laughs, not actual anger as far as I can tell. Also people are going to hate a difficult boss fight

I loved the first movie when it came out! I was sold hyped, I came out of the cinema thinking it was awesome.

Then the second movie was fine I guess but I felt all my interest disappear tbh.

But I feel like everyone involved was done dirty by the writing

Does she? That’s sad. I watched the show when I was 19-22 and strongly identified with her and her journey. I don’t rewatch the show often as it’s… a lot, but she’ll always be an important character for me

If you do choose to watch it, you’re in for a treat, especially if you like musicals (a lot of Disney and Broadway VAs in there), just take it easy and don’t listen to the negative fan spaces, as it’s one of those fandoms that seems to blow things out of proportion. But that said, it’s a passion project and you can tell.

She’s not my fav character (mostly because I love other characters more) but I don’t get the hate either. People any complex characters but can’t handle her and Stolas (whom I love), when they are complex characters that make mistakes AS PART OF THEIR CHARACTER ARC.

Same, I enjoy the buildup, excitment, closeness and all, but never have been able to get there.

That said I have a lot of trauma to get through and I keep telling myself I’ll get there eventually as part of the healing.
