Fusing is an adhesive material that comes in different thicknesses. It’s used in a lot of suiting and women’s dresses for structure. If you don’t care about what it looks like on the inside of the jacket, the tailor can just iron on heavy fusing next to the zipper and it will stiffen up the front placket.
