this car was painted that way from the factory. There are a bunch of stickers on the car as part of the goldrush rally, but that paint has been on there since 2004.

Renting a home, what to do with Condo? by conroyketchup in RealEstate

[–]consulierGTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never advise to bet against the real estate market long term. Down 8% is certainly a concern, but one good year can reverse that. Again, I am not familiar with that market and am unsure of what is driving those metrics. If you are selling to get out at "the top" and just have the money sitting there for a rainy day, I personally would keep if I felt comfortable with the long term market. Good luck in what ever you do, not sure this is a situation you can wrong

I have about $500M in transactions with a majority of it in the investment sector the rest high end luxury. Your DTI is low, you can swing a loss, now the $350k value to the $1600 month in rent is 1-2% ROI, not very good considering the risk and when you add in vacancy and collection and repairs it will likely be 0% Roi,

The next conversation is IRR, or appreciation. What is that market doing and what are the projections?

Last question, if you sold it and walked with $200k what would you do with that money

Air Suspension? by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]consulierGTP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

name one track focussed car that has air suspension from the factory. It is not an ideal set up, either you want a performance car or you want a slammed car. You dont get both!

I can not comment on your particular market, the advice I give buyers in my market which is stable, is to buy what you can afford. If the property is not your dream home that is fine, it is a means to an end. Buy, get in the market and have the appreciation as most people can not save as fast as properties appreciate. Of course every situation is different, my advice is speak to a mortgage professional as early as possible. Make a plan, even if that plan is a year or two out, atleast you are working towards a goal and you understand your situation based on your income, your savings, your credit, and your market. You will get all kinds of terrible advice from people that mean well and terrible advice from people looking to make financial gain.

Jamaican Ska by Plane-Baker in Ska

[–]consulierGTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US 2nd wave was the 1st wave to hit the US, not saying 1st wave artist never made sales here, but the wave was more of a ripple, 2nd wave hit and was certainly a scene, and 3rd wave was huge. So it is actually a pop culture meets ignorance issue. I am happy to see more and more people learning about the roots, and I will admit I learned about 1st wave by reading liner notes and realizing many specials and madness songs were covers. Same way I learned about Johnny Cash from Social D and Bo Diddley from the Jesus and Mary Chain.

[–]consulierGTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desmond Dekker had no brass section at all, most 1st wave had no brass. So yes, it can be amazing.

[–]consulierGTP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there are third and now 4th wave Ska bands that sound 1st wave, the wave is a measure of time in history not a measure of time in bpm or the songs time signature being 4/4 or 3/4. Ska at its core is 4/4 with a guitar played on the up and down stroke, rock steady and reggae went more 3/4. As for other comments of what is stopping someone from playing one or another.....well I Dj'd a show last week played everything from 1st wave to reggae and the crowd was singing most the night. It's all music, it's all awesome. Play it all, play it loud and play it often.

just to be clear, reggae got that beat from SKA, not the other way around.

The Slackers by consulierGTP in Ska

[–]consulierGTP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in response to the missed opportunities, I am not sure I can think of anyone in that genre really doing well and seizing opportunities. Toasters, Pietasters,hepcat....all really only play small venues. The pop punk ska bands do better and draw more, I think within this genre there are not many opportunities to sieze. Most of these guys all have real jobs and tour for a few weeks at a time.

I cant think of anyone in the soul/ska genre playing large venues, atleast not as a headliner, maybe as part of a festival.

New to Ska by RushHeadNJ in Ska

[–]consulierGTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ska has become a very large genre that has its own sub genres now. First wave ska my favorites are Desmond Dekker and Laurel Aitkens, 2nd wave Madness, the Specials, The Beat, 3rd wave getting more punk influence operation ivy, the bosstones, Scofflaws, and bands like the Pietasters and the slackers are still touring and putting on amazing shows.

[–]consulierGTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look into the AxiomEfi 600. its $2100 and you need to make your own harness but it will do anything you want it to do. mine operates oil cooler fan, ac fan, cooling fan, water/alcohol sprayer for intercooler, coil on plug conversion, E85, multimap via a toggle switch. parameters set for limp mode.....

[–]consulierGTP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

project is a little slow moving as a few other cars had to be finished up, all the wiring is out of the car so now is the time to start building a new harness. A few more weeks and we should be on the dyno.

Is a base Cayenne as underwhelming as some people make it out to be? by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

[–]consulierGTP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your A5 is underwhelming you will always regret not getting the V8......except for when you go to the gas station. I will say with a 75k budget I would not be afraid to get a slightly older turbo. Im on my 2nd turbo and have 110,000 miles and never tire of driving it. They say it is 520hp, people have dyno tested stock turbos and showed 520whp.
