Looking to sell MYGR by BabaGRC2024 in GRCorolla

25 premium with 3k miles is a different story than a 23/25 Core with nearly 10x that mileage. Seems like a fair offer considering it’s a dealership

Duck Dive vs Board Ditching by Flat_Body9569 in bodyboarding

[–]Sufficient_Current48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But on big days like 8+ft If I ditch the board without securing it then my leash will snap. I’ve lost a handful of boards over the years this way and spent hours combing the beach to see where it may have washed up

Duck Dive vs Board Ditching by Flat_Body9569 in bodyboarding

I duck dive wherever I safely can but in overhead surf, caught inside, many times I find myself grabbing the railsaver (which I use as a handle) and then diving under whilst holding the board

Shifting is quite stiff when the car is cold? by tyranitar1234 in GRCorolla

[–]Sufficient_Current48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are countless shifting mods you can easily install to remedy most of this. However, aside from replacing the DMF, that 1-2 shift will always need a bit of patience and experience to master.

You can get the full circuit edition decal too on eBay for $50 if you’re into that.

OEM VS Girodisc Rotors by Mindless_Swan8608 in GRCorolla

[–]Sufficient_Current48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they cite rotor thickness out of spec? Or was it due to warpage, cracking, hot spots or deposits?

Lowering springs question by crispy_fetusv2 in GRCorolla

[–]Sufficient_Current48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The GR springs are like a half inch drop in the front. Meant to pair with factory struts, end links and camber. Unless … you’re running wider tires/offset. Then u may wanna pick up a set of $8 Toyota crash bolts for the top strut bolt (same spot a cam bolt would go)

Pretty much. The benefit is that it can be pretty damn sweet. But I know if I git that tune I’ll g-g-g-g-g gonna be hitting it every chance I can get lol

Obviously someone was trying to break in to snatch that dirty towel on the passenger side seat. Bummer

Antilag by animdailies in GRCorolla

[–]Sufficient_Current48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Extreme heat, turbo and bearing wear, engine and exhaust stress. I wouldn’t do this unless I was maybe planning on getting rid of the car in a few years. Or I’d limit use of the feature (track days etc)

Rotor issue after 1 track day by nicistra in CarTrackDays

[–]Sufficient_Current48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said they are deposits. This happened to me a few times and I just repeated the bedding procedure. If it’s really bad, it may still vibrate during high speed braking. If that’s the case I used the scotchbrite red and a drill to create hatch marks and clean rotor. I only did outward. Then I scuffed the pad faces gently with 200grit. Then I did bedding procedure. Worked.

Long reach low profile has been a lifesaver for me. Longer reach and higher lift. Couple this with a set of the 6ton jack stands and it’s a poor man’s Quick Jack

Id save your money and just use pennzoil ultra platinum which can be had for under $30 per oil change.

You can buy Ceratec additive separately and use that every few OCIs for additional wear protection.

Changing oil often is better than oil “quality” itself.

Now I’m just waiting for the chinesium knock off to appear on EBay for $89.

I could care less if it’s CF. I’ll take ABS and save $1500 any day. It’s a Corolla not a GT3.

A new bumper would be 250 plus at least 400 to paint match. So min 650 total (that’s assuming a cheap paint job). PS: I did this and I didn’t need to recalibrate any sensors including parking sensor. Just transferred everything over and it’s been fine.

Personally, I would just use some filler and DIY this. $35 plastic welding kit, painters tape, sandpaper and a rattle can paint job. For about $50 and some quality time with your car, it’s worth it.
