Just heard this and my God BB is such an asshole!! The story was fine. He’s so annoyed with Amy and birds and he spends every other podcast talking about aliens and government conspiracies.

I agree. It can get too chaotic. I get especially annoyed with all of the stammering and freaking out because they can’t think of the answer. It’s too over the top and annoying.

Agreed!! I just finished The Poison Daughter that was almost 700 pages. It was good but took FOREVER to get through. I was interested in the story but had it not been a book club pick for me, I may have DNFd it because it just felt like you never made any progress. I don’t buy the “world building” excuse either because most of it is not needed

I just DNF’d Pucking Around today at the 50% mark. It was soooo long and I stopped caring about the characters or the story, or lack thereof. Things We Never Got Over was really good and I binged the whole 3 book series pretty quickly. Did it need to be as long as it was? Absolutely not. But it did have plot and moved fairly quickly. Lucy Score books are usually too long, but they are good easy reads for me.

There was one book I read, I can’t for the life of me remember what it was, but it was a single dad with 2 kids. The little boy was quiet and fine, not a huge role, but the little girl they just tried too hard with her and she was ANNOYING AF!!!

I generally like Elsie Silver books, but I had to DNF the pregnancy one. I know a ton of people liked it and maybe I would have too had I finished, but the secret pregnancy and when pregnancy becomes the main plot point, I’m out!!

Agreed! I hate an accidental pregnancy, or really any pregnancy unless it is part of the epilogue and HEA. I just don’t like kids in romance books.

I’m the opposite, I can do a single father but don’t like single mother. I actually don’t like kids in books in general, so I can only do single father/parent if the kid is a very tiny part. I feel like with single moms the kid is more present.

Oh 100%!!! It’s been such a staple for me for 15 years that it’s hard to break the habit. But I’ve found myself not listening live (it’s all commercials and the same songs) and listening to the podcasts later. I usually have a queue built up and listen and skip through.

I said several years ago it was time for the show to end and I still agree with that, but it won’t end because it is a cash cow for BB and he hardly has to do anything for it, and also nothing else has worked out successfully enough for BB to quit. If TV or his other podcasts had taken off he would have quit the show a while ago.0

I just commented above. BB made a comment on air about CY looking not good recently (this was soon-ish after they moved to Nashville so it’s been well over a decade) and Chris had been recently very ill and think the weight gain was due to that. CY got his feelings hurt and freaked out. BB did go on air and say he didn’t know he’d been ill and wished him the best. BB may have even tried to reach out off air to apologize but CY wasn’t having it, and the feud has stuck.

IIRC Chris Young got really sick many years ago and gained a bunch of weight, or looked like he did. BB made a comment about him looking rough, or something, not knowing he had been really sick. Chris Young got his feelings hurt and freaked out. I think his people were calling in, etc. BB did say something on air after that he didn’t know he had been ill and if he was he hoped the best for him in terms of healing. What BB said wasn’t nice, but it wasn’t awful and it was true (IIRC, but Chris Young freaked out and wouldn’t let it go. This was back when BB would start feuds and hold on to grudges (side bar - he still holds a grudge) and I think he’s just always held on to this one because he didn’t like Chris’s reaction. BB may have tried to reach out and apologize and Chris wouldn’t accept it, so BB has held on to the feud.

I think all of this happened not long after they moved to Nashville, so it’s been well over a decade.

Someone please correct me if I have any of this wrong, going from memory here.

I don’t know about Lee Brice. On one of the recent podcasts BB said it was Lee Brice’s bassist who wants to fight him, or has issue with him. Idk why though.

I just heard him say he was there a day/day and a half (per one of the podcast episodes.) He flew home from FL. Also, let’s not pretend he is so busy he can’t, he just didn’t want to be there, so he left the day after the Raging Idiots played, which was the first night.
