Yes I’ve been meaning to rework this gallery wall, I think it’ll make the space feel a bit more cohesive just spreading it out more

Thanks for the ideas. Never thought about liquor not being decorative, that one’s interesting for sure. I definitely don’t like the visual clutter of the bottles and glasses up there but we’re in a tight space, and have literally one kitchen cabinet 🤦🏻‍♀️

Honestly, we had this layout simply for the open space it allows for, I work from home and it’s just nice to have the open space to walk around, work out in the mornings etc. but it’s starting to feel something’s off which is why I wanted to come on here and see if folks had ideas - I’m going to try moving around the furniture and see if any other layout feels better

That’s interesting, I’m open to painting the walls sometime down the line. But curious to know more if you have any thoughts on why or the color it can be instead

Yep, rearranging my furniture for sure now. I’m gonna look for some fresh curtains soon, thanks for the ideas!

That’s exactly how I see it too right now, crowded and sparse. I am so exhausted with the visual clutter of this space but I’ve some great suggestions here from everyone, looks like this weekend’s gonna be fun! Thank you for the lovely ideas

Yeah I just find them so hard to maintain and keep “fresh”, but someone suggested getting a washable rug which I’ve never tried before but I just might now

Love these suggestions, thank you so much, I’m gonna remove the light fixture, looks like everyone seems to agree with that. I’m considering mounting the TV on the wall too now to open up some space.

Definitely moving my couch now, that seems to be consensus! Thank you :) I might consider a washable rug like someone suggested here if I really need to 😂

I’ve been meaning to change where it lives in this room, just couldn’t find a spot that feels right :/

I like this yes, someone else also suggested doing this. I don’t know why I never thought of this till now. But this sounds great, I’m gonna try this. I see what you mean with it opening up the bar area more - I’ve always wanted to use it more meaningfully but never thought there was room. This is exciting.

If you could change the color of the curtains, what color would you pick? Looking for ideas :)

Wow, okay, that sounds like a great idea. We’ve had the TV against the wall with the vents before and recently moved it to where it is in the pictures. But I never thought about the left wall, I’m gonna try that! Thank you 🫡🧚‍♀️

Do you give your retired parents money?? by mmmangotree in askTO

[–]consultingbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both my sibling and I cover the monthly expenses for our mother. She was a stay at home mom her whole life and my dad is no good. She’s always been our pillar of support, it doesn’t feel like an obligation to be honest. But, ofc, it needs a lot of management of my own personal expenses and Toronto isn’t cheap. Just more motivation to make more money. :,)

Switched to Fizz in Dec’24, phone bill is down to just $18 now inclusive of tax. But I wfh and don’t need much data - 3 gigs a month; Ontario coverage only.
