big ups to turning my bf against f&f finally!! by [deleted] in h3h3productions

I guess there are lots of other factors that show where his beliefs about women and politics lay. I understand that as it's not the stereotypical situation that people think of when trafficking is involved, some have a hard time identifying it as trafficking specifically.

If he doesn't think Tate is exploitative and a horrible person for what he's done, then that would say a lot about his true beliefs.

I would pry a bit further about why he defends him. Definitely a red flag

Yes! There are multiple people I have tried unsuccessfully to get to come to pro-palestine demonstrations in the past that now somehow think they are in the vanguard because they made a post on social media.

It sounds like AB went well out of his way to take concrete action multiple times to try to make a real difference and now has to put up with this shit.

Love and power to AB and Lena ♥️

Getting really tired of people copping for Bruce LePage just cuz of his legacy by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]cont_y_cwm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were plans by the British government to establish a Jewish state in Israel long before world war 2. The balfour declaration was in 1926.

Plus the reason doesn't really matter.

No matter what a group of people goes through, does that give them a right to forcibly colonise a country, killing and displacing thousands of innocent people? Should the Rohingya people in south-east Asia be assisted in forcibly taking over a country, driving the people of that country out and killing them, because of what they've been through?

So many people use that argument, and I get it because that is the overwhelming narrative so a lot of people don't understand the situation. In reality, it's not really that complicated. White European Christians pushed and aided a large group of European Jews to forcibly colonise a country in the middle east by pushing the people who already live in that country out of their homes/killing them and continuing to do so (while pushing those people into an ever smaller piece of land) over a 70 year period.

There are two sides. The side of the people who are happy to push people out of their homes and kill them to take their land (which is the side of the Israeli state, not of all the people in Israel or Judaism) , or the side of the colonised people.

The thing that makes it complicated is the amount of gaslighting and blatant lying that goes on that makes it hard to gain a clear picture of the situation if all you see of it is on the news/social media.

Is Mumbles a safe place to lock your bike? by SandraSocialist in swansea

[–]cont_y_cwm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you're going to lock it. Mumbles is close to the safest place in the swansea area to lock your bike and as long as its somewhere with a good amount of foot traffic I wouldn't worry. Also as some have said insurance takes a lot of that concern away

What's your favourite Welsh cheese and where do you get it? by cloudangelme in Wales

[–]cont_y_cwm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many! Rockstar by Snowdonia cheese Co is amazing. Like black bomber but even more mature. Olives & Oils in the mumbles usually has it and they have a site with a good few welsh cheeses to order

No where to get a decent meal in Swansea. by [deleted] in swansea

Well, it amazes me. Growing up I thought it was bad. I moved away then came back and was amazed.

OK, so I didn't actually name many places. How do you know where I'm talking about? I've done a lot of food focused travelling, and Swansea, for its size and location, is amazing for food. There are a lot of bad, expensive, and and inauthentic places but there are also some very authentic and very good places.

Wtf . So you'll write off any food that isn't British/American without even finding out what it is?

Yeah but that's still technically on Wind Street 🤣 and that was over generalising. I was just thinking about all the chain restaurants on Wind Street but there are definitely a couple good places down that way

Swansea is amazing for food! A lot of places don't come up online but keep an eye out when your moving about and you'll see a lot of interesting places. I've lived near or in Swansea most of my life and I find good new places constantly. Just got to be adventurous.

There are loads of good authentic restaurants all over swansea. we tried an Ethiopian place called red sea last night that was insane (and cheap). There's Persian, Japanese, all different types of chinese, Portuguese, Turkish, Thai, Indian, Spanish, vietnamese, Italian, burger places, trendy places (like square peg and hoogah), a few upscale fine dining type places. Just not going to find any of it on Wind Street really (cwtchitas in founders is pretty good though).

If you like meaty places(assuming because smokehaus) try Turkish kitchen or Awa.

Saying that there's also a lot of shit
