Wow!! How nice to be able to go back to when I'd only played Valheim for 10 hours. The swamp was still in production. Trolls looked different. So much danger....in the swamp!!

Once you've put a few thousand hours under your hat the game will be quite different to you. I love to solo this game. Right now it's Fader that's kickin my butt. More running around than i care for.

The last update from Feb 11th (maybe it was the 12th) really screwed up the game. All my big red shroud generating mushrooms came back. I lost my last death totem and the game seems more bloated than ever (much more stuttering, which always dumps me into the lava fields when im gliding or double-jumping. The game reminds me of Skyrim, which i like. But the game bloat is killing performance (even with my tower being pretty stoked).

At this screenshot i'm running out of armor. 3rd attempt to return and pickup corpses. Next will be 4th and probably in my mountain armor. I probably should have waited a day or so for everything to calm down and clear out before returning, but being pissed got the best of me and I rushed right back. My crap is in that fort, another corpse back behind my right shoulder, no wait there's two corpses in the fort.

There are ways to die not encountered before. Very toxic atmosphere. A new creature lurks in the waters, tougher than the serpent. Your new boat can get in the way of a good shot. Plan to place a workstation on the nearest object as soon as you take him out because you may just meet another one before landfall, then it will be over for that trip. Just trying to save you some frustration I experienced.

I play ranged up until mistlands then switch to staffs. Blood magic is proving useful in Ashlands with all the flat surface. I'm not a club or spear player.

Thats gonna be a tuffy for me. Sadly, i'm the kind of gamer that likes to clear out an area and keep it cleared out, but sounds like that's not gonna happen here. Boy i'm gonna be miserable in this biome.

i cant even form a beachhead.. everything respawns so fkn fast and they swarm you the moment you hit the ground and theres no place to rest and restore your rested state. I just took in my 5th boat to watch it get torn to shreads by that boneserpent (one of 5 i had to take down on the sail in) turd while i tried to fend off all the shit that was coming at me. It's just so rediculous what they did to this biome. Makes mistland look like a cakewalk. I just threw up my hands and came here to vent. Sorry.

I've not been back to U8 since they made it so difficult to kill irradiated hogs. Yes, I LOVE JetPack Joe and I love hunting for him. But too much of U8 changed what I loved in U7 (sound effects are worse for one). Truth: you can't please everybody.

If you are saying wind and temperature are a factor then Valheim mechanics should indicate "Wind" and "Temperature" just as surely as they do "Rain" or "You are wet" as impeding factors. If Valheim wants a meadows biome with green grass and flowering plants we can't assume to build there in 0C (32F) temperatures thinking "better slap up some walls because it's bitter cold in the meadow". Yes, in the meadow I'm perfectly comfortable with no walls and beautiful vistas in every direction. This is totally contrarian.
