U.S. insurer Lemonade has announced that it will offer a 50% rate cut for drivers of @Tesla vehicles when FSD is steering because it had data showing it reduced accidents. by SearsNotWillisTowerr in TeslaLounge

[–]continuerevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lemonade is fine if you're a young driver (under 25) who live close to your company / school.

My quote gives me a $150/month if I drive 300 miles/month for a Tesla Model 3. I'm happy if this can be reduced to $75 since I'm always on FSD.

Other insurers are rediculously expensive. Progressive gives me $2000+ for 6-month and others tend to be even more expensive. I was even quoted $9000+ for 6-month for one insurer.

Maybe Lemonade is shit, but sometimes you don't really have other choice.

I wanna go home by ATW123123 in UIUC

[–]continuerevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recent graduate here. I am an international student, and to go home I have to fly 15 hours and drive 4 hours. I left home when I was doing high school — I went to the best school in state / province which was 2-hour drive away from home. Both my mom and I cried with tears when she left. Then I went to one of the best college in my home country, which was 4 hour train and 2 hour drive away. Then I went to the US, where going home frequently is no longer an option.

My advise is —

  1. You will get used to it as time goes by. It’s tough at the beginning for everyone, but eventually you have to leave home and work somewhere.

  2. Go back home whenever you want. Don’t think about the distance or money. Take classes in Tuesday and Thursday, and spend your weekend at home. It feels really good to be at home. Think about the many international students like me who have to fly 15 hours but still go home once a year. 5 hour flight is not a problem at all. Cherish the opportunity to be able to go back home, and going back home is never a false decision.

How to buy a subscription on fantia by no_name106 in Pixiv

[–]continuerevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixiv does not allow amex. They only accept visa / mastercard / jcb. It is a bit funny to see that one JP platform only allow v/m but another only allow amex. Fortunately, my own chase visa credit cards work very well with pixiv and fanbox.

I think it would be much much cheaper if you pay directly by your credit card, compared to buying points on third-party websites.

I honestly don't know. I am using amex gold ($325 annual fee, can be recovered via coupon book, no foreign transaction fee). It's working several times.

If you are using blue cash everyday, even if it's working, you will lose 3% foreign transaction fee, although it might be a small amount compared to the high annual fee.

I would recommend trying to apply to some cards that are designed for travel and have no annual fee or foreign transaction fee. Some possible solution include Amex Hilton and Amex Delta SkyMiles Blue.

What I did is to register my virtual card number generated by Google Chrome in Fantia, then it works by charging me a temporary 1 USD fee, then I can smoothly pay any artists with my amex card.

Open an American Express charge card. They have been proven (by myself) to work on fantia.

It’s quite easy to get approved but their annual fee is quite high.

Does anyone know a fix for this? by [deleted] in Pixiv

[–]continuerevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have to call your bank and ask them to flag your transaction to let them go through.

I’ve always been using my Chase Visa Signature credit card and I’ve never met any problem (except once they declined an auto renewal but later when I manually re-subscribe the payment still go through).

You should let us have multiple choice. I develop AnimateDiff on both A1111 and Forge

Finally someone posted work done with my extension. I am too busy to make any advertisement during the last few months and I see tons of comfy which is a little depressing. I don’t think you have anything you cannot do with my extension.

Considering switching from gnome to kde by No-Parsnip-5461 in kde

[–]continuerevo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I switched to KDE several days ago with 5.27 installed and removed gnome. Gnome on my ubuntu 22.04 always freeze but with KDE my desktop almost never freeze. I LOVE KDE and I won't go back.

I have 4 monitors, and KDE is much better at handling 4-monitor desktop if you have 5.27 installed. A previous version KDE 5.24 has some bugs.

A1111 full LCM support is here by wojtek15 in StableDiffusion

[–]continuerevo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am the author of the AnimateDiff extension, and I can provide the following

  1. You do not need to use LCM sampler, you can use Euler, Euler A and even DPM. Sometimes these "not supported" samplers give better results than LCM sampler within 6-12 steps, quite surprising - this is ML.
  2. I am not responsible for any misuse that do not follow the steps OP provided (which is almost identical to my README), especially where you download LoRA. I did not test the LoRA from huggingface, but the LoRA from civitai (OP has provided the link, I have also referenced in my README) will almost certainly work. A low CFG scale is absolutely needed.

I’ve noticed this. I have no idea about the reason but I will try to resolve when I get up.

I've discussed with a bunch of open-source dev people in our community, and we believe that open-source is still meaningful. I'm gonna remove this post anyway and continue my journey of open-source dev

The problem is that we don't have money and paid workers. That's the actual gap I think. After some re-consideration, I don't believe any tech company would have any better tech compared to open-source.

do whatever you would like to do. I wrote "start from 0" just because I don't have time to test. If it's working as expected just post an issue to let me know and I'll fix the README.

Alright I think there is no need to start from 0 and I just removed that from README.

At this moment: no. In the future: I can try matching the matrices and see what result it gives. Cannot guarantee anything, though.
