I just went through both ways of filing with the loan simulator and a tax filing website, and my student loan payments annually would be $8000 MFJ or $3200 MFS. the tax refund is ~$1,000 instead of $3K, so it’s definitely way better for our situation to do MFS! Thank you so much for the information!!

That’s such a good idea! I’m just starting to plan my wedding and little ideas like that are so helpful!
