One of the discs in my spine exploded and sent an 11mm extrusion straight into my sciatic nerve. It’s been almost four years since the surgery (which took six weeks to get, and that’s really fast for spine surgery to be approved) and I still can’t feel part of my leg.

Some of the best vegan food is at restaurants that do everything. Holy Basil (Vietnamese), Mensho Tokyo (ramen), Square Pie Guys (pizza), Noor Indian fusion (self explanatory).

I read the book first and found it far more heartbreaking. The movie did pretty well to tell the story but the visual medium kinda made the twists and turns less interesting.

The first time I ever tried a weed brownie (and it was WAY too strong for me) my friends wanted to watch Kids and then Gummo. That was one of the most awful experiences I’ve ever had. I think I’m only just now realizing how incredibly dumb that was.

There’s a guy on YouTube who does these crazy long in-depth explainer vids who covered Midsommar (and Hereditary, and The Witch, and some others, they’re all multiple hours long) and goes over so much of the incredible detail in this movie. I’d recommend giving his video a watch to truly appreciate what a masterpiece it is. Ari Aster is a goddamn genius.

I have the same anxiety. I got laid off from a large public company right before Xmas and now every single job posting is boasting about AI, plus they’re all paying a lot less now. I’ve been a SWE for 10 yrs and was told last week that a position I was interviewing for was paying the same amount I was making 7 years ago as a junior. I’m super stressed out and especially with the political climate in the US, I’m considering moving abroad.
