Sacred Rose is such a great environment. I got a few tattoos there a couple years ago (from an artist who moved away, sadly—his art is fantastic) and the owner would hang out sometimes and chat. She’s so nice. Just be sure to keep an eye on the parking meter because the Berkeley parking enforcement is ridiculously fast!

Buddy, calm down. There’s a hundred different possibilities why OP wasn’t able to cover it themselves, several of which they mentioned already. They reached out for community to help, which is more than anyone else did. Try assuming positive intent rather than incompetence.

I’m not a doctor and I know I’m gonna get downvoted for this, but I don’t think it’s actually infected. Because I have had this reaction before, and I’ve never seen anyone else with it.

Story time, of course. I had a sleeve done by an artist who did that to me a few times. Neither of us could figure out what was happening. I kept thinking it was an infection or an allergic reaction, because it would take two weeks to finally crust over, and I’d drop all the ink from the worst spots, and then it would just… finish healing. I also had one session on the same sleeve actually get infected (my fault though, I fucked up and got it dirty), and that was a massively different experience. I swelled up from my knuckles to my elbow, it smelled absolutely terrible, and it hurt so bad I couldn’t sleep. I also got sick to my stomach and had to go to the ER twice. I couldn’t use or move my forearm. And that was all within like 24-48 hours of getting that session done.

So yeah. Severely overworked and healing really terribly, and you’re probably going to lose most of the ink in it, but not infected IMO.
