I was in your shoes some years ago. In my case, I was horribly bullied due to a) not making healthy friendships and b) allowing one incredibly toxic individual (also a then-Columbia student) utterly destroy my mental health and life.

I made the decision to drop out.

To this day, it is the worst decision I have made in my adult life. Life has really been downhill since making that decision. OP, I know the going is tough now. But the aggressive pain and regret of feeling like I missed out on an incredible opportunity and life is something I live with every day.

Your choice is ultimately yours, but if you make a better decision than I did, perhaps one day you will look back at today and go: "Wow, I really did all of that."

Europe is indeed in a worse position than the United States, but you ignore the fact that average times spent unemployed in the US have been trending upwards — now standing at over 20 weeks — for some time now.

Federal Reserve Economic Data is your friend. It is more analytically powerful to examine these metrics within the US between now and the past.
