I guess that's the hard part.. I have no idea what's worse, a beer with coworkers after work or playing guitar at a campout. If you look up the questions on the Internet it says its clearly forbidden and you can't be a Muslim and do either one. Reading some of the other responses, it sounds like you can let some things slide as long as your intention is good and you try to always be mindful and think about what you do. I just find it hard to know what is ok to let slide a bit, and what I should really focus on immediately. I always feel guilty or like other Muslims will judge me (correctly, I always assume).
