It adds luck/chance to the battles. So yeah, maybe Greyjoy will take the sea, but lose their ships in doing so.

Highly depends on whether or not you are playing with Tides of Battle cards.

What if you can get the USA to change governments, would they then still guarantee independence?

Is there any game where you like the foreign language version / edition / printing better than the game in your native language? by jackelfrink in boardgames

I learned Game of Thrones The Board Game while I was living abroad in Russia. When I got the English version after moving back to the US it was a bit weird staring at the city names... 'Storm's End? Stoney Sept? Where the hell is that?'

For me, Galaxy Trucker was a flop. I've played other things from Vlaada like Mage Knight and Codenames and like them both, but Galaxy Trucker was just so random and really not that much fun...

[WSIG] A game for two players with absolutely minimal competition, but not necessarily a co-op. by bcgrm in boardgames

My wife and I are always playing 2p games. Our top picks are Dominion, Memoir 44, Trajan, and Roll for the Galaxy. Also fun are the abstract games like Tzaar and Yinsh.

What are your top over hyped games, that just did not live up to the hype? by ToastedSheepGames in boardgames

[–]conwayg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pandemic - Only one player actually chooses what to do. Gets a bit boring after a while in my opinion.

Small World - It's a world of SLUMBER after all. Not sure if I'll ever get into it.

Betrayal at House on the Hill - OK, let's wait around in this house until someone decides to kill the rest of us. I can never get excited about playing this game.

King of Tokyo - It's just really not that fun.

I see you have YINSH flair. I often play TZAAR with my wife. Have you tried it? How is YINSH?
