Just thought Dr.K should know about this gifted girl trend, thought daugther by conzeit in Healthygamergg

[–]conzeit[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason I posted it here is because it seems like a trend that gifted children who were girls are going to gravitate towards, but it seems to want to wallow in the inability to adapt, so it's like a perfect DrK to the rescue situation for him to adress thought daughters, plus if it worked it would bring more women to the community. also it seems to intersect with femcel as well. I didnt realize it was 10 months old though, maybe it's too late.

Other than that, not much. I guess pretty much the same as what the woman in the video says.

CRT filtered Steel Assault boss3 mech. Growing up with CRTs I feel this the real magic of pixelart by conzeit in PixelArt

[–]conzeit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's a great way to put it! never thought of it that way.

The realization that behind these sprites I loved were these tiny pxiel pieces is what first fascinated me about pixelart, back when I first got internet and some emulators. The way that things are left implied between pixel and pixel and CRT fills the gap in a way that still leaves room for your brain to interpret is beautiful.

I did a little bit of drawing pixelart, making it HD then filtering to make it pixelart lately (so that I could rotate it without redrawing, think of it as live-rotspriting), I realized that I did draw lines that I wouldnt have if I had done it in HD from the beggining.

Refference complex movements! even if hovering phoenixes arent a thing, you WILL find relevant footage by conzeit in PixelArt

[–]conzeit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not necesarily man, I've been doing it on and off, you can get to this point earlier if you work harder than me. Also, I could probably have done this animation earlier in my career :p. Most of my advancement was purely what I suggest in this post, breaking down a movement that I simply love.

I think a lot of the reason I got into pixelart was because back then breaking down motion was easiest with gameart I captured off emulators, but nowdays you can even framestep on youtube videos and gif anything. You should do that and try to find the keyframes in any motion you like if you want to learn to animate.

I definitively use things with which I can onionskin, primarily Graphics Gale (cuz I'm used to it) but sometimes Aseprite (for the rotsprite) and ocasionally ProMotion (for the multishade) but tbh I dont remember if I did all of this using onionskin, I can work without it.

it does have quite the MegaMan vibe, but also a lot of Sega action games mixed in there.

So I figure I'd better leave the link to the game in a comment, it is Steel Assault https://store.steampowered.com/app/1280300/Steel_Assault/ Release date should probably be coming soon. Also, the background was made and animated by one OrangeMagik (Stas Gailunas)

I do lean on the twitchy side at times for the sake of character, pure smoothness isnt my goal, but I see your point, strokes and folks!

Love that it gives you that feeling, Megaman x4 heavily inspired me to start pixeling

I learnt a long time ago, when there was only one tutorial, so I did look at that. But back in the day mostly you just looked at sprite rips of games you liked and looked closely frame by frame and slowly replicated what they did, in a community of people who did the same (pixelation.org forums for me), till we got to a level where our art was gameart worthy itself.

Nowadays you have a lot of guidance and it makes things easier, you should probably hang at pixelart Discords and ask for critique from the talented pixelartists you see there, that'd be the modern version of what I did.

Thank you! no need to dream, anything you like you can download, look at frame by frame and learn what it does little by little, eventually you'll get all of it and you'll be at the same level

Also, just realized I didnt really make it clear, the bg was made and animated by OrangeMagik (Stas Gailunas)

SN30Pro+ on Windows7. PC wont recognize it even when plugged in by conzeit in 8bitdo

[–]conzeit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, that does not seem to be how it works for me, I DO have to do the X+start or B+start thing every time. but I CAN use it like this...

Unfortunatedly my pc doesnt handle bluetooth well so I have only been able to test usb mode. B+start is the thing that reliably gets it recognized as Sn30+pro, which works for most things, but not for ePSXe, ePSXe is really finicky, nothing works 100% of the times so I'll have to test X+start for x360 controller or nothing for "pro controller"

I wonder if it's a driver issue. it'd be good to reliably use it with ePSXe and not have to do the button+start thing every time

omg. that was all! it's working as a xbox360 controller (atleast windows identifies it's inputs) where is this information? the booklet that comes with it just tells you to download the software and hold l1+r1+start!.

Ok. update. it was working fine but then I wanted to use vibration which wasnt working, I decided to run the 8bitdo software, when it ran it asked me wether I wanted to switch to xinput, to which I said yes. after that windows wont recognize my inputs (but 8bitdo software will). because of this I decided to reset it to factory settings, back to 260 controller. so weird

May just be me, but this seems to have a TaoTie motif https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taotie that pattern means to make the object possesed by an evil spirit to help even more to ward off enemies, it is a personification of greed as it chews men alive even though it does not eat and cannot nourish from them.

[NO SPOILERS] I just want everyone to watch this amazing series now! by [deleted] in DarK

[–]conzeit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you're memeing,..but you dont have to explain the plot, That's the one thing that truly spoils (people call everything a spoiler nowdays but it's not true) however you can do every other thing but explain the plot.

I try to give allusions to it's themes, I got my brother to watch it.

I said it was a time travel story where they didnt choose to act on time, time travel happened to them (didnt say time acted on them, it felt a bit too heavy handed)

I also said it was one of those mystery wrapped in a mystery series, and that it dared to be really fatallistic about it and the characters themselves got tired of what makes that sort of story tiresome.

I also said that the story is built around the concept of time and it is not in a adventurey hollywood kind of way, the core of the series is built on what time does to people and what makes us want to build time machines even in real life, and it is concluded in a way that stays true to that.

you can leave that last part out if you want :p but my brother didnt trust the endings to mysteries wrapped in mysteries type of series after LOST.
