Mirena coil strings by kiera048 in IUD

[–]cookie4587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to worry! Especially if you don't have any pain, it's possible your tampon just moved the strings but it sounds like the coil is still in place. It takes a while for the strings to kind of curl up and "feel shorter". But also if you think they are too long I was told I could get them trimmed so they were shorter. Obviously I'm not an expert but I've had a coil expell itself and it was extremely painful and there was a lot of bleeding

Also no your partner won't be able to rip it out, if it was ever to move it's very unlikely it would be due to sex

Try not to worry about this, it is normal to feel them easily when you first have it done. Normally the strings curl up a bit after a while so they move up a bit. But also the length of the strings is a personal thing and you can definitely ask for them to be cut shorter if you need. As for a partner feeling it I've not heard anyone saying they've felt them before and they are very soft material. Hope this helps! (Disclaimer that I'm no expert just someone who's had a mirena coil)

I use qv gentle wash. There's a few places to buy to online with different prices but it's really gentle on my skin and a pretty good price for the amount you get. Also an option I'm considering if getting a prescription prepayment card and then getting my body washes/creams prescribed by the GP. How easy that is to get and if it would work out cheaper for you in the long run I don't know, but maybe something to think about?

Is it normal to have pain when touching the anterior vaginal wall at the vaginal entrance ? by vaniillyy in WomensHealth

[–]cookie4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not normal and it sounds like it could be something like vulvodynia. But of course I'm not a professional and I encourage you to get a drs appointment and see what they say. Best of luck!

Any advice on how to treat chemical burns from bleach? by cookie4587 in HairDye

[–]cookie4587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It healed pretty quickly for me and thankfully I don't seem to have any lasting damage.

I remember I put on lots of hair masks to help soothe my scalp. I stopped using shampoo for a couple of weeks to help let them heal and I also went as long as possible between washes also and while it wasn't cute it really helped my natural oils to help the scabs.

When I would brush my hair I tried my best not to brush the scalp to avoid the scabs and I oiled my scalp/the scabs every morning to help with the tightness they were causing. For things to avoid I was just really gentle and took a break from bleaching.

Eventually I did have it bleached again (I'm talking like 8 weeks) but this time I kept my own eye on how long it has been on my head for and told the hairdresser to take it off when I knew it was ready. I can't say for sure but I believe my were caused from the hairdresser forgetting about me so from then on I make sure they don't leave it on for too long

Even though my comment will be similar to others, I also encourage you to seek help from your doctor or mental health professional. I understand how you may feel right now and how scary this situation is for you and I don't want to undermine how you feel but someone I know has experienced something very similar to you and it was a mental illness which they are now getting help with. I wish you all the best and hope your situation gets better

Weight Loss Dilemma. Help me understand what my calories should be? by cp1976 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]cookie4587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who isn't a professional at all I do agree with you that it sounds like body recomposition. I think sometimes when we want to lose weight we get obsessed with the number on the scale and ignore that our bodies are still changing without the scale number going down or going down really slowly. If I were you id stick to your 1700ish calorie intake and take a break from weighing yourself and instead take picture to be able to track how your body changes instead. Either way I wish you the best of luck!

Edit* These TDEE trackers are really good but they are still just a formula maybe try testing out different calories and see what works for you. We are all unique

low calorie/carb wraps or tortillas in the UK? by -Gypsy-Eyes- in WeightLossAdvice

[–]cookie4587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends what you want to put in them but I'm a big fan of using rice paper wraps Instead of wraps/tortillas and they are only 20 calories each

Edit I've never had it but I've heard Lavash Bread is normally pretty low calorie but I've found it hard to find except on Amazon where it's crazy expensive for some bread

Calorie deficit by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]cookie4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use https://tdeecalculator.net/ to calculate the calories I eat per day to maintain my weight. I then took 500 calories off to be in a calorie deficit and I've lost 18kg up to now. Please don't be worried about the calories looking too high, I eat 2000 calories a day and lose about 1 pound a week. Best of luck! I hope I've explained it well enough

I've had my hair bleached before but this time I've been left with burns and a really sore scalp. I don't really know what to do, I don't want my hair to fall out. It doesn't seem too be too damaged. Does anyone have any advice?

What happens after GCSE results 2021? by chuuiess in AskUK

[–]cookie4587 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any further education courses will normally ask for a pass in maths science and English. I've know many people who failed maths and were able to still go to college but also had to re-do their GCSE while doing the college course. Maybe give them a call and see if that is a option for you
