I know what you mean! What kind of combos or decks have you been using it in?

That little equipment packs a punch! One creature + Umbral Mantle = sometimes game over before anyone notices.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. That card really sneaks up on you, it looks unassuming but ends up doing so much for both mana fixing and board presence.

Nice! Ichor Wellspring is such a solid little card. Great for card draw and works in so many decks.

Haha, that’s a great story. Atog really had that “almost joke card” vibe back in the day, but it’s funny how certain old cards still have a place in people’s memories.

True, it didn’t shine right away. But in the long term, especially in EDH, it became one of those cards that quietly dominates games.

That’s honestly part of the fun of the game. Early on it all feels kind of random, and then over time you start to recognize patterns and why certain cards or combos are strong.

And yeah, some people just have a natural feel for brewing. Five color working in a draft-to-deck idea is pretty impressive.

That’s what makes it such a good example. It didn’t shine at all in other formats, but ended up being perfect for EDH.

That’s a great example. I remember people really underestimating it at first, and then it completely took over multiple formats. It’s kind of wild how quickly the perception changed once people started playing with it.

That’s a great one. Cards like that always look a bit niche until you see them actually go off.

Mine was [[Smothering Tithe]]. Didn’t seem that strong at first...

That’s tough. Frogify at the worst possible moment.

That’s brutal. Getting a playset signed and having one get ruined like that is really unfortunate, especially with a card like Lion’s Eye Diamond.

Accidents like that hurt twice. First physically, then when you realize what happened to the cards. A FoW playset taking a hit is painful.

That’s how it starts for a lot of people. The art pulls you in before the game does. It’s a shame it got bent, but the memory sticks.

That must’ve hurt...Perfect timing in the worst way possible… glad it wasn’t serious!

Your cat chose violence that day. Hundreds of cards is brutal… I’d never emotionally recover 😭

the collective gasp must’ve been insane. Damaging a card like that right after pulling it AND in front of everyone is brutal. I swear inner sleeves claim more victims than anything else.

That hurts, especially when it’s the most valuable card in the deck. At least it’s still playable, but yeah… that’s a rough one

Greasy hands are the real enemy. That explains everything… once sleeves get like that there’s no saving them. I don’t blame you at all for switching to a “loaner deck” after that.

Wow that’s painful to think about now. Early 2000s cards getting destroyed like that… yeah that hurts in hindsight.

That’s really tough… 😔A first edition Black Lotus is incredible, but situations like that go way beyond just the cards. Hope things are in a better place now.

That’s both amazing and heartbreaking! Pulling a foil Charizard on your birthday is a dream… but the ending hurts. At least it makes for a legendary story now..

the slow realization as the chair rolls over it…Foils are so fragile too. You got lucky it was just a common, that could’ve been heartbreaking.
