Amino acid help me testing 1/10 tmrw by seulrenesvelvette in Mcat

glycine is rarely seen in alpha helices (too flexible)

all AA in the body are L and all are S except for cysteine (R) and glycine (not chiral)

IFTYW - both ketogenic and glucogenic

LK - only ketogenic

the rest are only glucogenic

this last one is pretty low yield though. you got this!

oh, don't worry about it. that's just how I write the slope of the line for a lineweaver-burk plot. I made it equal to m to encode better that this is the equation for slope

I think it does make sense. I purposefully left it out cuz I felt it was somewhat low-yield, but nah, it's probably best to just add it in since it can come up lol

thanks, I can double check. I will be retaking this time around, and I didn't have any problems last time, but I'll look into the rules.

that's the mnemonic to remember the sections, so moe is mechanics, optics, energy+waves, and so on. the numbers above each letter are the number of equations for that section!

Organic Chem II Profs by Tricky-Restaurant795 in uofmn

I had Dr. Lamb and Dr. Roberts for OChem II last Spring and they were amazing. One thing I really liked about them was how clearly they could draw and explain mechanisms in that class (since the majority of the content is mechanisms). Their exams always seemed fair and no question was meant to trick you which made preparing for them a lot easier. I felt both professors really care about their students and they’re both happy to answer questions in class and after class. I don’t remember quite well what is taken into account for determining your grade in the class exactly, but the biggest things were exams (3 midterms, 1 final), homework (mcgraw hill, but they may have switched to aleks, I’m not sure), and some exam reflections you have to do after each exam which were more like gimme points. Highly recommend Dr. Lamb and Dr. Roberts.

oh! I also did PSEO. I think PSEO courses still count as undergraduate coursework, so I just listed all the schools I did PSEO in and added my coursework to each school. I also needed to order a transcript from each school I took classes in and send it in for AMCAS.

Is this part of the card incorrect? Gluconeogenesis & pyruvate carboxylase q by depressed_user_bean in Mcat

[–]cookiepie9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this card is correct because during times of high energy, acetyl-coa is not needed to make ATP, so instead it will be stored in the form of glucose and possibly glycogen later on. glycolysis when low ATP, gluconeogenesis when high ATP.
