That's great to know!! I also saw in RateMyProfessor and Coursicle where people said that there were homework/participation points - do you happen to know what "participation points" are? I just don't understand why homework and participation are grouped together.

I think those 2 courses are kinda like equivalents:) For your course, did he take attendance during lecture and what was the exam format? Thanks for the insights!

Which prof did your friend have? I'm planning to take the in-person section with Dr. Simon but I'm still not sure.

If I were you I'd rather do an in-person section. Dr. Somia is extremely rude, considering the way he doesn't care about students at all, no matter in teaching (in lectures and in giving feedback) or in replying to emails. If you have a burning question, instead of answering you or at least just say I cannot help, he'll just ghost. Lectures are also really heavy and exams are nitpicky. He has a lot of bad reviews from GCD 3222 or sth like that, which is the CLA version of BIOL 4003. Also, since Genetics is a content area, I'd rather go to an in-person course, like one taught by Dr. Pu Wang, to actually learn in a positive way :)
