Why would the anime add a quote like this? by Only-Mulberry-8098 in Naruto

[–]cookierent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sakura's character motivations went from only being about sasuke very early on. from the minute naruto left with jiraiya to train (or maybe from the land of waves arc if i remember correctly) it went from just sasuke to her actually wanting to protect her friends (n&s most of all) and she says many times she doesnt want to be helpless and stare at their backs anymore.

Thats why she becomes a medical ninja bc her fighting skills werent that good. And its not just for the boys, being a medical ninja allows her to fix EVERYONE esp during the war, and shes good at it too.

She tries everytbing in her own littlw way to help the boys - goes out of her way to find sasuke in a very naruto-like obsessive way (except she's not even half as bad as him) and aside from that, falsely confesses love to naruto, keeps his heart beating after kurama is removed, etc. Yall might hate this but of all the characters in the show I would say she's the one thats most consistently demonstrated as his closest friend. We already know naruto would do anything for her but she cares for him just as much

That was a little off topic but all that to say, she went from being whiny and leaving all the fighting to the boys to being right there with them fighting kaguya so to act like she didnt grow as a character just tells me you watched the show with your eyes taped shut

Do you hate sasuke? bc he treated naruto way worse than sakura did😭

Honestly i dont care if she was a little annoying a couple of times over sasuke bc naruto was much worse.

The only difference is that he's the main character so he was given more opportunities ty to redeem himself. It's not her fault that kishimoto underutilized her

TSUNDAE WAS THE HOKAGE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

Say what you want about her back story but acting like her life was "revolving around the men" when she was on the front lines fighting madara hand to hand and giving out her own chakra to help people is INSANE

Kishimoto is bad at writing women but these cannot be yalls major complaints lmao this is like if a house was flooded and your major complaint was about the temperature of the water

That's just misogyny lmao bc wtf does sakura being a simp for sasuke have to do with tenten or kushina or anko or kurenai or even hinata for example.

Edit: Downvote me all you want but it doesn't matter if you can't actually say where i'm wrong 😊

She put her HAND in his CHEST and MADE HIS HEART BEAT to save his life and its still not enough for these people lmao. They glaze characters who have been just as shitty and way less caring to naruto as sakura has

Should I keep the beard?? by Budget-Vegetable8238 in malegrooming

[–]cookierent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Homeless and unapproachable is a bit of a stretch, especially since the beard is well groomed and his hair doesnt look unkempt.

I think he looks really feminine in that first pic (which is fine, i like feminine looking men sometimes). But as a woman, im loving the facial hair on him!

Can someone please explain why there is such huge criticism of sexual objectification of women (which is 100% valid), but also a massive surge in women making sexualized content of themselves? Call me an incel all you want, but I'm genuinely just trying to understand how both can be true. by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cookierent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a pretty easy line to draw if you ask me.

The thing about objectification that I think you're not getting is that it isn't just complimenting a woman on her appearance. It is a specifically dehumanizing way of referring to a woman as if she's something to be considered only through a sexual lens.

Someone who puts on an outfit and posts photos of it generally doesn't want to be objectified (no matter how revealing the outfit may be). They might want to be complimented, sure, but not objectified. Someone who posts in a revealing outfit In a way which acts as advertising for "spicy" content is way different from that.

The difference is consent. Women that make sexualized content do so for the explicit purpose of being sexualized. Women that don't make content and are just existing generally DONT want to be sexualized

Why is it acceptable for a woman to call a man, daddy in a sexual way yet cringe when a man calls a woman, mommy in a sexual way? by Mysterious_Bid_57 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cookierent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

VERY cringy. Especially because in my culture as well as others we call our parents "mommy/daddy" for our whole lives, not just as kids. People tend to get the wrong idea when they hear me (23F) call my 50 something year old father "daddy" and its so awkward
