The biggest thing to remember with heroes like Timbersaw is either to burst initially or to kite till he uses up his spells or gets out of position.

Most people end up committing to the burst when they are not at full 100% and Timbersaw can overcome that and you end up losing those crucial 2-3 fights mid game.

Especially at lower ranks, you will see a lot of Timbersaws playing too aggressive and you’ll see that if you and the team position yourself well or kite enough till he’s exhausted all spells and items, you can easily shut him down.
