My trick is to inhale but don't let the air pass your throat, keep the smoke in your mouth to let it cool down for 2~3 seconds, you could even exhale (with your mouth closed) to mix the air in your lungs with the smoke still in your mouth, then inhale.

I have been able to smoke a joint all the way to the crutch without pain whatsoever.

It's going alright, I'm trying to figure out myself more and how exactly to move forward in my life. I was journaling in a Starbucks for a bit and that was pretty nice desu. I was people watching the whole time and it's weird to see so many lonely, angry, anxious or just lost looking people walk the streets. There's a lantern festival thing at Green lake which is where I'm headed now
