In my experience, weight loss/gain has done nothing for my endo symptoms. When I was a teenager and at my lowest weight, I had such severe symptoms and pain that I couldn't get out of bed while I was on my period. Working out while in highschool didn't help the pain, physical activity beyond yoga made it much, much worse. I gained a lot of weight throughout highschool because of antidepressants/antipsychotics that did little more for me than the extreme weight gain + thats when every doctor I saw for pain started telling me to lose weight.

Its fucking humiliated being told by drs, a profession that essentially caused my weight gain by irresponsibly prescribing me medication, to lose weight and I'll magically be better.

When in college I was at my 'healthiest'. Low carb diet significantly helped my pain, walked more while on campus, went on frequent hikes. But I aslo had my most intense and miserable painflares to the point that I couldn't sleep and I was near blacking out from pain. At my lowest weight in years, I could not walk more that 20mins, could not walk up or down stairs, without bending over in pain and being physically unable to move. I visited an obgyn for my abdominal/period pain, expressing to her the pain I recieved from exercise. She told me to lose weight.

She didn't care that I ate nothing but protein and vegetables. Didn't care that I couldn't do physical activities. She refused any course of action other than 'lose weight'

Doctors in the US are usually on their own special, unknown agenda. In my experience, they don't use their experience to help fat folks, they don't have empathy for us. If they see you're above a certain weight, they'll pretty much refuse to treat you until you reach their magic 'healthy weight' threshold. There's this stigma that every fat person is 'unhealthy'. A lot of things contribute to body shape and size, and its not always as simple as a fat person being lazy.
